#1 Andy McGrath loves finals football (Part 1)

I think we have, players like morgan, redman, lav and lang look so far off contributing to the seniors, the young players currently thriving in the seniors were pretty much walk up starts or resulted from blind faith from a coach. your mcgraths, merrett and parishes, as well as your gleesons.

We have a huge problem developing players. Players that have gone on to other clubs are killing it. The recruiters have done an amazing job with the ■■■■ they have been dealt. They had to bring in a team of has beens. Bring back the boys. Who have come back under done. With what they have gone through for years they should be congratulated

This guy and parish just highlight how poorly composed and fumbly the rest of the squad are

Any chance this guy could have got some centre bounces today? I mean when were 50 points down does woosh think that he could spud it up more than jobe, hepp and myersy

That bit of play on the wing I’ll admit I jizzed a little. His natural instinct is to be clean and intelligent with the ball. Amazing

Can we please get a specialist midfield coach? Williams is a part timer and more a skills coach. When was the last time we had a well credentialed midfield coach? We struggled in the midfield for the past 15 years for a reason.

Love this kid.

McGrath,Parish,Merret,Zaka on the outside Heppel as the main inside mid and we need another bull mid via trade/FA.

Think it was the one where he danced around 3-4 players in tight and somehow fed a clean handball away? Yep, that was genuinely exciting to see and regardless of the farked circumstances I couldn’t help smile

What other players have we discarded that have gone onto greater things? Don’t list players who chose to leave due to a number of factors from the last 4 years.

Don’t be an idiot

Seriously, please list them.

this isn’t the thread for it, but hibberd, ryder and melksham make ■■■■ all difference to what happened yesterday. let alone monfries or crameri.

ours was a systematic failure of the midfield and talls apart from joe.

His statement was that other players are playing better at other clubs than we could develop them to at ours. I disagree, all the players he is thinking had already been developed well at our club and we lost them at their primes.

Ryder and Hibberd would have helped a lot last night.

But I also agree that the biggest issue is the midfield and that has been hurting us for some time.

the midfield issue was able to be ignored because we had a bona fide gun defensive structure for the period from 2013-2015.

Hooker/ Hurley/ Carlisle/ Fletch/ Baguely/ Dempsey/ Hibberdwere able to a) keep us in games through destorying their direct opponent and b) providing great rebound off HB

That has gone now, and the midfield issue is heaps more prevalent. could be short sightedness, could be arrogance, who knows

Particularly Ryder, he is now 0/2 in finals having contributed absolutely nothing in both the finals he has played

Ryder’s tap work did make our mids look substantially better.

Heppell hasn’t been the same since Paddy left and stopped putting them down his throat.

0/3. He played in 2011 against fark carlton too.

Have a good holiday Andy, come back on November 6th and start your new job in the midfield group.

I think this is what makes it difficult to assess the forward and defensive line.

I would say that our current bookends are pretty good. We have a forward line than has done well despite the lack of high quality supply, and when that supply is good i.e. Port and St Kilda games, we tend to whip the opposition. Similarly, our defense has let through a few goals, but when your opposition is getting good supply i.e. yesterday, no defense is going to beat that.

Absolutely torched Zerrett and Hepps for poise and class in a final in his first year. When does a new player ever upstage your two best players in his first final?

Sign him up for 10 yrs now.
