Footballers miss goals and make mistakes consistently yet an umpire makes a few mistakes and It’s a conspiracy… However in the moment I feel the umpires are against us when it’s tight or losing and amused at how soft the free kicks we get when we’re winning. Viewing would be better if they didn’t try to find the best angle of how bad the umpire call was, no need to replay it.

The whole the umpire conspiracy against us I ridiculous. I agree with windy. You ask any one eyed supporter from any club - they all get shafted. If it were true, there is no way on this earth not ONE umpire would not leak something.

Pannell has a personal agenda against us but. I mean, 40k of our fans jeered him off after being knocked out would probably do that

Pannell was rogering us long before he got KO’d. I was at the game when it happened and at first I was concerned, but once I realised who it was I just thought ‘pfft…who cares’.

Thanks for that. The conversation is about an orchestrated attempt by the AFL to influence results by instructing umpires to favor some teams over others.

Favoritism and biases can and almost certainly do exist without a top-down conspiracy.
Although I’d note it only takes two to form a conspiracy. An ump making a mistake + his boss whitewashing it = a conspiracy.

Understand that I was brought up on sticks and stones etc, and that verbalising was just part of the culture. That is what I meant and not that it is any weakness on Frangas part, but a stupid reaction from me. Wont happen again, even old blokes can learn.

I should have known better, and it is a large lesson for me to pull my farking head in. If I or others are in any way responsible for Franga’s state of mind then I am sincerely ashamed, and very contrite.

After reading the posts in the Mental Health thread, I reckon we all need to be more careful in what we say. I acknowledge and accept all the comments from those who have bagged me.

I’ve bagged you and given you sh*t over the whole Francis affair, mostly because you didn’t see/understand what affects what you did to him could have on him, and you seemed very flippant on the whole affair. I’m glad to see you’ve seen the light on the subject, so to speak. I also think it speaks volumes to admit your mistakes, I commend you on that. I’m also not proud of some things I’ve said to you out of anger for what you did to Francis, two wrongs don’t make a right.

I’d like to think with a new year maybe we could both have genuine, kind hearted discussions on football with some disagreements without getting nasty with each other, I’d rather aim it Adelaide on Friday.

I think the Francis situation should have been a wake up call for many of our supporters about what we expect of our young players.

Many of the comments about Francis during Trade week were quite frankly sickening and pathetic. I’m certain many EFC supporters have had a good hard look at themselves.
