Was it Chris Tarrant who struggled not long after being drafted and took a little bit of time off at Collingwood before coming back and finding his way? Time away isnt always the worst thing

Wasnāt the story that Eddie bought a box of crownys and took Tarrant down to his holiday house. Kicked back drinking together and he came good afterwards.

Looks like Francis has worked really hard and has transformed his body. It sure looks like he wants to play footy and play at the club.
But the way I read that article, they are taking it slowly. So they should.

I am confident the club will handle it the right way but I wonder whether the Gleeson injury has given him a spark? Never seemed like the guy would enjoy trainingā¦ more a gametime specialist. I wonder if the lure of cementing a spot helps with motivation?
My first thought would be to throw him into a couple of games and see how it goes. Perhaps the cheer of the crowd and a feeling of accomplishment might do him wonders? Every young guy talks about the struggle when you are way down the selection list etc etcā¦
Anyway Iām glad he has come back to the club and hopefully it means he is in a better space mentally.

You cant miss 1 month of training and come back 1 week before the season starts and expect him to be fit enough to play round 1. Its just not going to happen.

Aaron Francis is human. Orazio is not. Unfair comparison.
We need to leave Francis alone and just see what happens. If he gets back into the firsts at some stage it would be a great story. It shouldnāt and wont be week 1.
