Quick hands, clean off the deck, decent legspeed and can actually kick the footy.
Makes more good decisions than bad with ball in hand too.

What I saw was not good enough
Must get a full preseason.
I think Liam Ryan is probably too old for us, but I do think we need an experienced small forward who will demand a defender to give Kako and Huss some respite and breathing room.
Ryan also would give us some ingenious representation and a genuine small who is a marking threat under the long bomb

His Mind seems to work faster than his limbs, hence the fumbles under pressure and lack of composure at times. That’ll all work out, he’ll become more composed and less fumbly. Even the good players have those games. I’ve enjoyed seeing him through midfield. He’s been pretty good in there.

It’s about hardness. Menzie looks like he puts his body on the line. Kako is 18 so I can understand why he doesn’t go in for certain contests. Sone instances didn’t look good but that doesn’t mean I don’t think Kako is no good. He will get there
I swear he made one fumble all night but because it was in the last quarter, it’s all people are remembering. He’s still the best player we’ve had all year at picking the ball up off the ground.

It looked like Kako (along with Durham) was one of the players the Saints put in extra time and pressure. He was tackled often and as soon as he took possession, so was unable to use his break away pace in space.

I think the move into the midfield has accelerated his development and he’ll learn a lot and the team will benefit. He does lack composure sometimes, but it comes from being overeager. That’s something he’ll get better at with experience. He’s on a steep development curve and he’ll be very good for many years once he matures into his game.

I think he’s going to be a Tom Papley type. Less of a ■■■■, obviously.
Can make stuff happen up forward, can roll through the middle and change up the dynamic. Good type of player to have.

I think he will end up a good player, his arms appear to be to short to tackle sometimes, its not a lack of trying he just cant seem to get his arms totally around the opposition. i do wish he would be used more as a traditional small forward, ie stays around the drop of the ball from the marking contest and look to be dangerous around goal. plays to far up the field for mine as a link type player

First year player at the end of a long year where he has had to shoulder a heavier load than he should have. Played every game. Rising star nod. Already our most dangerous smaller forward. Cutting his teeth with time in the middle.
Had several instances where he handled the ball so cleanly it was a genuine “wow” moment.
But he is not good enough? What do people actually expect?

It’s just that he’s tackling players who are significantly bigger than him.
As long as he does the right things in the weight room he is going to be just fine.
Yep. He was in our best for mine yesterday. Who knows where his best position will be but he’ll be a very good player nonetheless.

Buckley in commentary said he was showing good signs playing as a midfielder. It was a quick passing comment but it was in comparison to Steele not picking up the ground ball quickly enough. I’d be genuinely interested to hear his thoughts on this in more detail as I don’t really see Kako as a midfielder but I do rate Buckley take on these things.
