If anyone is worried about kako, my god you have no idea how to identify young talent
Only has to cleanup a couple of tiny things in his game and he will be a gun. That will come by next year. I think another small forward in the side and we will terrorize a few sides. Hope Hussein can be the one.
Heāll be fine. Glad to see him getting more involved. Tries to do too much sometimes - invent play, rather than the simple thing - but heāll get that out of his system once he feels more entrenched.
Sit him down and show him the numerous videos of Tippa tackling blokes. No short steps (if you ignore the fact that all Tippaās steps were short). He really drove into it when he got within sniffing distance of catching someone with the ball. And when he clamped them, they stayed clamped.
As long as he keeps chasing and tackling, im happy with him to keep building in the seniors. Having a game with a bag of 3+ will do wonders for his growth
Heās been getting a bit of reward for effort (goals wise) of late so let him keep building. His connection with Caddy is epic
Yep. I think heās close to having a breakout game. Heās building nicely.
An awesome half of footy - breakout game?
Hes been doing a lot of this stuff all season, really. our fwd line looks to be actually working today is the difference. i really like what he brings. his breakout game will be when he manages to kick multiple goals.
Think its his best half of footy this year. Doubt he will be an elite small forward because of his skill set, however, as long as he masters what he is good at then he is a premiership player.
He looks fkn awesome playing a bit higher up the ground
I doubt he wonāt.
Iāve been an advocate for this since we drafted him, he isnāt an inside 35m player he needs to be around the flanks.
Heās kind of doing everything you want from a small forward except kicking bulk goalsā¦.and some of that I feel is because heās trying to feed teammates rather going for the goal himself. He seemed more instinctual going for goal in the preseason and early season than he is now.
Happens ALOT with young players desperately trying to fit in with teammates and the overall team first ethos. I have zero doubt he will be a regular 30+ goal per season small forward after another 40 or so games, which is elite.
He definitely gives off a number of looks that he could selfishly take but Iād prefer that being the default⦠Does he struggle to kick past 40m on goal though? Bit worrying that but he was really good today regardless
I only saw the first half, and he was good, seemed really busy and involved.
I reckon youāre right here, though. His scoring potential at the moment is limited by the range of his kicking. This should improve as he gets a bit stronger.
Yeah heās 19 so plenty of time but it just seems for the last 10 years our small forwards really arenāt that much of a danger on goal from around the 50s mark
Best game for the club. Should be rising star unless they give it to the Viking.
Iām n the 3rd qtr there was a passage of okay where he had multiple efforts, tackles and pressure which resulted in a shot in goal.
Heās growing into his body and his role and what is required at AFL level.
Hopefully gets rewarded with a RS nom this year.
