#10 Sam Weideman

Under ‘weaknesses’ you’ve put ‘eczema’.

That is something unexpected to look forward to. It is on you if it doesn’t happen.

In the US ‘fannyy’ means your arse. Not…your minge.

Was ■■■■■ ■■■■ the aunt of the famous septic novelist, Philip K. ■■■■ ?

Is there any truth in the rumour that Melbourne will take Sam back for a sixth round pick ?

Do you mean the rumour you just made up? I think it highly unlikely Sam goes anywhere beyond the recycle bin at JB hi-fi. He wouldn’t last 6 rounds with anyone.

It’s is well past time for Weed to be gone. I don’t think anyone will offer anything for him. But, who knows? They say there’s one born every day.

Lester is the sort of role player/fringe player every club has. Fringe at his best. 1 year deals from the age of 27 until he turned 30, when he was delisted. Re rookied to be VFL captain. 20 games once in his previous 13 seasons. Every game in 2024 and now a 200 game premiership player.

For all the talk of how stacked premiership teams are, he’s basically Lav covered in premiership fairy dust.

This is not a knock in Lester, it is what it is. He has got the best out of himself, but to suggest that we don’t have 5 players that could get a game in the better sides is ignoring the reality that good sides get great value out of average players every single week.

Lester doesn’t give away pointless free kicks or make a blue 2 out of every 3 opportunities.

Hopefully may give me a reason to watch

I don’t mind the club leaving delistings until after the B&F, if that’s what they’re doing. Let the guys enjoy the night. They’ve all been part of the club and contributed, albeit not enough in some cases.

Having said that, we then need to be ruthless with cutting those not offering what we need. I just hope the club has a clear plan going forward. Debatable. And if Weideman is still on the list next year I fear we will just be treading water yet again.

They are not doing that. They’ve already culled Hind, among others.

I understand that but there would still be others we’d be looking to move on.

Raynor is more like Stringer.

I would still pick Rayner ahead of Stringer.

Raynor is probably less consistent than Stringer.

Definitely not. He had a very good year

Rayner has played a lot of midfield minutes this year, similar to Stringer in 2021. Stringer has been predominantly forward this year. Rayner’s stats suggest he is not that consistent. He is a good player though.
