Ya think

Played well on the weekend, and deserves credit for it.

Hopefully th team offer him a bit more protection that when he had his collar bone snapped.

Hopefully consistency will follow now. Been so up and down this year (much like the team obviously)

Everytime he gets responsibility to play more inside role he performs significantly better.

Twice this year with Myers out he’s been essentially BOG (certainly coaches votes wise)

Vs Melb - 31 disp / 4 tackles / 1 goal
Vs Freo - 32 disp / 5 tackles / 1 goal

And also when Myers out Parish’s impact increases!

Hmmmm

He’s a barometer, for sure. When he’s hunting the ball/player with intent, good things are happening with the team. It is quite possible the infection took some time to move through his system, impacting his output, but he seems back on track.

So Myers is actually protecting the kids (from Zaharakis overshadowing them).

because he is one of the biggest downhill skiers in the league…

Yes we were a well oiled machine and would have comfortably won without him on the weekend. Oh, wait

Oh, wait what? did you forget to finish the sentence? or did you just not want to explain that he plays a great game every now and then while also admitting that hes a consistent underperforming, one-way runner who doesent lead from the front?

Oh so if he doesn’t always play well he’s a downhill skier? Was he a downhill skier on the weekend? Was he a downhill skier when we turned our disastrous start to last year with two stirring wins against Geelong and gws ( 6 Brownlow votes would suggest otherwise). Players play up and down. I’d reckon he’d be more consistent if played in centre bounces more. When at centre bounces his rate of winning clearances is pretty high. But he’s mostly played wing or half back or defensive mid. He’s played outside generally. You are mostly relying on others to win the ball - that’s just the role.

Is he always great? No. Not many are, and no ones saying he’s Ablett or Tom Mitchell or anyone else who’s won or pushed for a Brownlow. But when he plays well he deserves that to be recognised. He got 4 and 4 or 5 and 3 from the coaches, they didn’t say ‘let’s not mention him because of other games’. That’s all.

Whole lotta justifyin’ goin’ on.

Hes easily the most frustrating player on our list. just a colossal waste for what he could have been…

So confirming the premise- not interested in acknowledging when he does play well because something to to with other times.

He played very well. The issue is the consistency between his good games and his awful games

He is our barometer, if he plays well we win.

what he said @davethedon

That makes about 13 “barometers” we’ve got, then.
