Went along to watch the All Stars v Freo game. Jade was ok. Very hot day and an extended bench, so lots of rotations going on. Great to see an EFC rep out there. Bobby Hill has got some wheels, btw.

anyone know how he went in the indigenous game, I didn’t watch.
He was in and out. It was a stinking hot day so both teams had huge benches and there was a lot of short bursts. I didn’t see a lot of him tbh but he bobbed up here and there.

I see people criticising the decision to play him as sub, but he was extremely impactful with fresh legs, he made things happen and played really well. Does this mean it’s stupid that he was sub? Or that it was the right decision?
This may sound like motivated reasoning (though I’m pretty well on record as not often defending Brad) but I wonder if letting him know he’s closer to 23rd man than safely in our untouchable few, for someone who seemed very much to be coasting & playing for himself last year, may be exactly what he needed.
Especially with Alwyn hopefully back soon (and reputedly having taken a few steps forward in the pre season) I think he could be an option as an impact sub semi regularly.

I get all that, and I kind of agree with it. But….
I think it’s an absolute non-negotiable that we play at least two and preferably three small fwds.
Gresham as sub was a poor decision structurally, even if it was motivated by man-management.
If we need to give him a kick up the arse then do that outside of the game.

First to admit I’m not his biggest fan but I thought he was good when he came on.
Wasn’t afraid to break the lines and showed at bit of creativity which we were lacking so I dips me lid to him
