People forget how good he has been for us since he came across. Has been the big bodied mid we have always wanted. The problem has been that he tends to get injured for multiple weeks and people forget how good he is.

He had the reigning Brownlow medalist pushed into the goal square in search of a kick. You can’t ask for more.

He’s had some ordinary games.
He can get burnt at the contest when opponent mids just jog by him.

Last night was great, though. Back him over Hobbs.

Not sure whether he has a good match up against the handbaggers?

Atkins?

He is underrated. I really like him. Not scared to get involved. Stepped in when Hobbs got roughed up.
Yeah injuries but he shows up more than a lot of others.
Takes big jobs like Cripps. Earns his paycheck.
Stays in.

He a gun role player.
Makes others around him better.
He’s a critical part of our midfield and is still young enough to be part of our next tilt at finals (same draft as McGrath and Ridley)…

I think people are too quick to toss out the players from 2015 & 2016 drafts.

  • McKay, Parish, Redman, Gresham, Guelfi
  • McGrath, Draper, Ridley, Setterfield

well yeh, i’d let Gresham go play with his brother at Carlton given our small forwards coming in. But the rest have 3-4 years of footy left, hopefully good footy.

In a well drilled side and playing well some are AA squad possibles.

I may be a bit glass half full, but believe with all pieces on the park, we could shoot up the ladder next year. we’re gonna have 2 more first round picks or Reid running about. McKay needs a full preseason, along with Parish. Sprinkling the young and old together, we can improve as a unit. maybe add in a free agent too.

changes
Keep Draper -make him ruck again, trade Bryan.
Out: Tsatas, Goldstein, Bryan, Gresham, Shiel, *Langford, *Wright
In: Sweid, El-Achkar, Reid, May,

Get Perkins to 100 games before trading.

Mix youth with experience.

b: McGrath McKay Ridley
hb: Johnson Reid Roberts
c: Clarke Reid Duursma
hf: Martin Caddy Durham
f: El-Achkar May Kako
r: Draper Caldwell Merrett
int: Parish, Setterfield, Perkins, Prior ( or free agent half back better than prior)
Sub:Guelfi
EmG: Hayes, Hobbs, Day-wicks

Wright has played to a good level since returning. Langford injury prone another needs a good preseason. But with May and Perkins and Reid potentially coming in - we could potentially put Langford and Wright on the trade table too given from 2014 draft.

We finally have a tagger

You know what this means…

Wait. I thought he was a hack who should never play for us again.

I agree with a lot of what your saying here but to say we are too quick to toss guys out of the 2015/2016 draft is silly that’s ten years ago they have shown they don’t stack up plenty of times and then want out Bryan Tsatas baffles me.
We need the reverse move out these long term guys who haven’t got us anywhere and keep the younger guys who have a shot at turning us around

Thought Setterfield’s last game was great. We definitely can make room for him. But he is slow and they’ll run off him…as Cripps did with ease a few times.

At 27 he needs to perform, regularly. With Hobbs out of our team, I feel like we can give more attention to the perfect matchup/rotation for Setterfield.

This bloke ran his ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  ass off to not let that ā– ā– ā– ā–  kick the goal. Sign him up for 10 years because noone else would ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  do that

Honestly, between him and Caldwell, they’re the only ones that resemble footballers in the current team (today).

I would add Johnson to that list

Yeah. Would keep him in the side whilst injury free.

Love this guy and has well and truly earned a new contract
