It would be inconceivable for him not to win it this week. Statistically he is actually ahead of every other player for the first time this season. We didnât win the game but it would actually be embaressing for the AFL that the rising star fav hasnt even been nominated and had his best game for the year. No chance he doesnt get it tonight.

I think the problem is that you assume the AFL does âembarrassmentâ.

Collingwood won and Poulter produced similar numbers to Cox. Not saying thatâs how Iâd be doing it, but AFL favour players from winning teams.

Not all disposals are created equal. Cox has him covered this week in clearances, score involvements, overall disposals, intercept possessions and less turnovers. He also has a body of work behind him and is the equal favourite for the award. The only thing Poulter has over him is that the Pies won the game. Itâs surely going to Cox

The judges only take that into account when it suits them for the nominations.
Body of work counts for the actual award.
Strange, they got caught with Gulden, no body of work. Great in round 1 and faded badly since

I hope he doesnât get a nomination, every thick as a brick âexpertâ who votes presumes heâs eligible for it, they all vote and heâs the clear winner and they donât even realise he hasnât been nominated. they then madly rush around trying to figure out who came second and its fake smiles all round

If it wasnât for the AFLâS narcissistic need to pump out daily self promotion and bothersome fluff for the mouth breathing fkn heraldsunners, theyâd drop the weekly nominations and simply announce a top ten at the end of the home and away rounds, then vote on a winner from that pool.
But no, content is king.
