What do we think Cox’s position’ll end up being when he’s winning AAs, B&Fs and Brownlows from next year on wards? I’m getting real Adam Goodes mk2 vibes.
Personally, in next year’s Grand Final, I expect Cox to start at CHF, kicking 3 goals, move to CHB in the middle of the 3rd quarter to thwart our opponents attempted come back, then play the last 15 minutes in the Ruck allowing him to nab another 2 goals and clinch the Norm Smith.
Seems a reasonable expectation.
I’m not going off. Just calling you on a completely fabricated story.
I completely oppose homophobia, but there is no need to dream up untrue stories to support the cause. Does more harm than good.
If you can provide any sort of evidence that supports your position, I will apologise profusely and without reservation. Not holding my breathe though.
I think you’re underselling him, if anything.
Anything less would be a failure
Yes mate, sure, I’ll dig up the plethora of articles from 1998 or so.
As I said in my original post that you may want to read again, after opening with it there was no further mention and no coverage.

I agree, we have Jones to play CHF, Cox should be used as a nightmare matchup on the wing where he’ll be able to impact from goal square to goal square

The idea that this happened, and that there was absolutely no reporting on it is ridiculous. Also, articles from that time and much much earlier have all been digitised and are easily found with a simple google search.
The Footy Show has been on the wrong side of history on many occasions. This is just pure fantasy. I’ll leave the conversation at that and get back to celebrating Nik Cox.
Wouldn’t surprise me and I suspect that same player, who was playing at the time, was the one ‘outed’ by Jason Akermanis at a bulldogs function (iirc) a few years back.
Can someone explain the Unicorn nickname. I’m old and out of touch.
so you qualified for AZ?
Haha ALMOST.

More or less means he’s one of a kind - a mythical footballer who has all attributes
All old dudes need to have a handy link to the Urban Dictionary, however, you might end up being confused, or even appalled by what some fairly innocent words might now mean.
I’ve never been drunk on National TV, well…at least I don’t think so.

Updated for accuracy.
Given the “Top Definition” of “Unicorn” on Urban Dictionary is;
“A common swinging term used in the community to refer to a single female interested in meeting other couples. Described as such due to the rarity of finding said females. By no means derogatory but quite the opposite, a rare treat.”
- I’m not sure that recommendation answers the question in the context of Nik Cox.

quite the opposite, a rare treat.
Nik Cox is a rare treat for long suffering bomber fans though.
Maybe its not completely wrong after all.
Unicorn - only player 200cm that can do things he does
run as fast as he can
elite endurance
clean ball pickups
evasive / impressive agility for his size
makes good decisions with footy.
elite by foot, kicks left and right.
And yet I have never seen a Unicorn do any of those things!
