#13 Nik Cox - thru 2026 (Part 1)

I was really worried about Cox before this season and thought his only chance of making it was as a defender.
But I’m back on the wing bandwagon big time

He’ll end up in defense, playing an intercepting role while taking tge 3rd/4th tall.

Coxy and Ridley intercepting, while Reid and McKay take the key forwards will be a thing of beauty.

But I honestly think it’ll take another 3-4 years til it happens

He won’t have a set position for his career, he’s gonna be used to fill gaps created either by retirements, injury or list imbalance. Hopefully he gets to focus on specific roles or positions each season or two. But he is a genuine utility.

he is tall, fit, good below his knees, has an edge and good skills which could become great with more consistency. If his kicking can become more instinctive, then he’d be a good candidate for Martin’s Quarter back role when we are ready to move him forward again.

Utility. Think Nathan Lovett-Murray.

Cox is better than Perkins, but Reid still will be the Gun

I Ride with @HotDog on Cox… Wait what

Might be worth continuing trialing him as a forward (at either level)

COXY

Lost count of how many times he has be written off by the mouth breathers on this site just like other young players are copping tonight.

Amazing what some continuity does.

Yet he was still written off by a fair number of absolute clowns during today’s game as well.

Keep sending him up, showing some nice signs.
Liked him being sent forward a bit more later in the game

kicked 3 goals.

looked to tweak his knee in last qtr hope he is ok.

High impact gane

He’ll be a big out if his knee is injured

He’s interesting ole Coxy.
His versatility is a great asset but I hope he’s able to settle into a “primary” position rather than going the way of someone like Jared Brennan who was played here there and everywhere without really living up to his potential anywhere!

I have a lot of faith in this man

Id like to see him play forward for the rest of the season, and us go with a more convention wing, he can have license to work up the ground more. i think its worth trying
