Fletcher wasn’t built but pound for pound strong, I see Cox like this in 2026 season
I think next year he will improve on 2024 where he showed glimpses. 2026 after another preseason I think Cox will shine
Boo
Michael Tuck was skinnier than Cox and must have done at least 20 pre seasons for over 400 games.
The game was a lot different 40 years ago when he was playing
Do you think the size of his biceps is a testament to his lack of application?
Not so much different that a skinny guy could get by. Tuck was freakish in his build. In those days the game was slower, but the hits were harder, and many of them were borderline legal.
…and some of them were not. Leigh Matthews springs to mind, since we’re talking Hawthorn.
It’s very weird, Mac Andrew is a pretty handy player with his build yet people don’t get up in arms over his size.
His lack of any sort of size speaks to his lack of application off the field
There’s no reason why his build shouldn’t be similar to a Blicavs or a Allir Allir type.
He clearly has an issue about putting on weight, but given our history with stress fractures of the back, and soft tissue injuries I’m ok with Cox being the size he is.
The challenge with Cox and the coaching staff is how best to utilise Cox. He’s a utility type, but he’s not as productive as our other utility type (Martin).
So do we use him as a defensive type winger, defensive HF, HB intercepter? These are the questions, and we can’t get too hung up on the numbers output from Cox - as his role is vastly different to the majority of the team.
I do not know where we play him. My gut says half back. But is he ahead of Ridley, McGrath, Redman, Roberts, etc? I’d say not.
Cox has ‘groin and hip’ issue…. I wonder what the significance of this injury is? Usually these are troublesome and worrisome sounding situations. Oh well, no flags in 2025 so it’s all about context.
Mac Andrew is better than Cox in every aspect
Fletcher was not strong. Right up until the end of his career, he was beaten in every body on body contest with KP forwards. He managed to offset it by playing off his man and using his incredible reach and closing speed to spoil.
Ridiculous
Wiry and strong, Michael Tuck. Like Kevin Bartlett.
Lack of application is pretty accurate. A teenager asked to empty the dishwasher has more application than this guy.
But it has nothing to do with the size of his arms
Are we in a loop or living in some kind of simulation I swear the same conversations just repeat themselves
first time on blitz?
