#13 Nik Cox - thru 2026

Cox on wing for me. Very tall! Regain that aerobic fitness. Up and back all day. Serious mismatch for oppo. Massive advantage in marking and spoiling. Very handy kick too. Best position to expose attributes and not be exposed with strength etc.

Giving up the darts would be a good start

WHAT DO YOU KNOW

Didnā€™t bother Vander or Stants much!?

Hodgey as well.
Saw a few others in my going out days (2006-2010) but stopped paying attention after a while.

Wonder what Brad thinks of darts and the AFL lifestyle heā€™s concerned about.

ā€œThereā€™s a difference between training hard ā€“ and I think everyone trains hard ā€“ to what an AFL lifestyle looks like, so thatā€™s the area Iā€™m more concerned about and need to address.ā€

I would hope we see improvement this year, I give Brad first year FARK CARLTONā€™s (Thats Bluesā€™s if no one got it) and expect too, start to see a meaningful culture shiftā€¦if these words are true

Im sorry but how can this bloke have had full time access to a gym and nutritionist for over 3 years now and still look like this lmao.

I dont know if the club is to blame or the player but either way its just embarrassing.

The club is probably spooked by stress fractures.

Donā€™t care what he looks like. Bloke can play good footy.

Want him to do that.

Fair.

You have to admit its strange though.

Not every player needs to be some massive, ripped beast. Players from Fletch to Sean Darcy to Hayden Ballentyne to Stewie Dew to Tom Hawkins have had successful AFL careers. It takes all types.

Iā€™d suggest him getting his confidence back is more important than the size of his pipes.

How did Fletcher do it for 20 years?

Some people find it very hard to put on muscle, then mix that with the amount of running/exercise they do and you have your answer.

As wiry as fletch was, he had pretty broad shoulders and had a fair bit of meat on the bones.

Iā€™m not one to suggest that Cox has to be huge, but surely his body remains a fair way off consistent senior footy.

Fletch in his final game at 40 years of age.

What a shame he had to go out wearing that abomination of a guernsey

To be fair, muscle wasting and osteoporosis had already set in by then for Fletch.
