#14 Jordan Ridley -- ADDITIONAL 3 YEARS (till 2029)

Perhaps. Although the main difference between Reid and Baldwin this year is that Reid’s gone out twice with injuries whereas Baldwin’s injury has meant he hasn’t even come in in the first place. After lasting less than five minutes in his previous competitive football game.

Yeah. I mean, nothing would surprise. But we live in hope hey.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Hayes at some point, preferably while McKay and Ridley are both in the team so he’s got some cover, but that seems unlikely.

Mind you, the last time I said a debut was unlikely was Caddy less than 24 hours before his debut was announced, so who knows.

He’s a gun and his first three games back were damn good. But that today was arguably the worst game of his career. He was awful.

I’m pretty his first play of the second half ended with him hand passing straight to an unmanned Eagles player.

I guess it comes under the sometimes ■■■■ happens category.

I have more faith in Ridley than any other player on our list (bar Zach) in bouncing back after a poor performance.

I think Oscar Allen has a pretty good record on him, bit like Kent Kingsley on Fletch. Was the wrong match up , should have been McKay, I hope they remember next time round.

Was interesting the McKay went to waterman rather than lav though. Lav Darling was a good match up. Hepp seen to have himself on darling and waterman too at times

Judging by the look on Rids face after the siren he was really really unhappy with his performance

Compare it with his first game back. But the number of talls in the WCE attack was going to be a weakness for us and in future games until we have Reid available.

My ideal match up would have been McKay on Allen , Lav on Waterman - both similar size and combative types, I reckon the last game in Perth was a dead heat, and Rids on Darling every day of the week. If Lav got 10 marks on Darling, Rids would have got 15

thought he had another poor showing, taking too long to decide to impact a contest, being ineffective and hanging out the other defenders to dry.

a notable one where he last second tried to swap lav onto Cameron

Got outbodied and outmarked by Stengle. Had a shocker, but wasnt alone.

does this matter? the whole forums popping off, just a leader and best 5 player in the club escaping scrutiny for 2 soft showings in a row deserves to be discussed.

He needs a cattle prod.

Him and McKay, rugs on valium sometimes.

I’m almost certain he’ll turn it around, he’s a genuine class footballer. But his last two weeks have been well down on his best.

The problem is with all the time hes missed this is essentially his preseason. Will take a few more weeks to get into consistent form.

Ah, no it doesnt matter. I wasnt saying it shouldnt be discussed. I was saying he was terrible and so were several others.

Trying to remember their role is to defend

Unpopular opinion but he’s made the defence worse or at the very least unbalanced.
I’m not saying he’s a bad player, on the contrary, he has all the tools to be a gun. But he is not interested in beating his man and getting his hands dirty defending at the moment.
He’s looking to play like prime Tom Stewart, intercepting at will and he needs to realise sometimes the game simply requires dogged defending.
Get back to basics, play with aggression first and then let the intercepting/rebound come to you organically as a secondary layer to your performance.
