#14 - Jordan Ridley - thru 2029

Defence is the WB’s achilles heal. In all honesty they don’t need much to taker the next step. A player like Ridley could change that. Its the difference between them finishing 9th and top 4 this year IMO.

I for one would hate to be coming up agianst them in final. Problem is they will offer pick 28 which will be in the 30s come father sons, academies etc. And thats just not enough. I’d take their pick 10 but we all know how they operate….

I think we should trade him, quality player in a much desired role, he has a significant contract so we have the whip hand - let’s see if we can get a bidding war. The QLD family stuff is a furphy imo, he just wants a fresh start at a good club. I have absolutely zero negativity towards Ridley even if we did front load his contract. It’s a very short career and he should be looking to maximise the back end if his at a better club.

Id seriously look at bringing JUH to the club. I know it’ll be sold as a culture killing move but geez we need to become relevant and get some stars to the club. Surely it’s buying a potential star on the cheap?

We have enough troubles of our own without importing more. And everyone complains about our players not being able to get on the park. How many games has JUH missed again? At least with injuries you can get some sense of time out of the game. Personal reasons is an open ended situation. No thanks.

Ummmm, we get the Draper Compo, not Brisbane…

Not just recently. The bullshit they carried on with during the Crameri trade would make even the Dodoro-hard-to-deal-with crew wince.

JUH ? Who he ?

Oh, Jay Clark put his head above the parapet again, did he? Bound to be bullshit then. He’s not far short of Sam McClueless when it comes to the reverse barometer stakes…

Got an update on Ridley, not sure if it has been said on here. But he wants to leave for personal reasons (family reason actually). He actually doesn’t have an issue with Essendon.

His sister is up there and understand other family is considering moving north.

However, right now, I understand efc has minimal, if any appetite.

I sympathise with Rids injury plight but I must say with some guys across the league it does bother me when guys are happy to commit very long term and then next minute want out.

Unless there are health reasons not sure it’s compelling enough for us to let him go just cause Mum and Dad are moving up there

If Ridley wants to go to the bulldogs we should ask for 2 firsts then when they do trades to get the draft picks we should up our offer to 3 firsts, take it or leave it.

The bulldogs aren’t in QLD

Essendon holding him to his contract good

Sorry I was way behind in scrolling someone ages ago was talking bulldogs

I wonder if Merrett looking to leave has prompted Ridley’s move? Knowing your captain wants to be first off the sinking ship would raise alarm bells.

And it’s doubly problematic when the current trend is to front load certain contracts to juggle cap requirements.

THere’s absolutely no evidence that Merrett is even thinking of leaving.

Vultures like Barrett, McClure, Morris don’t even need smoke to declare there’s fire.

Heard the Dogs might make a play for him. Not sure if serious. Footscray is almost a neighbour to Essendon, it’s not the Sunshine state!

I’m happy with a Ridley for Sam Darcy trade maybe throw in another player like a Bont and a 1st rounder to get it done.

Ridley is that missing piece in the dogs flag puzzle to compliment Libba, etc lol

He’s not a star.
