Neale Daniher was 21 and in his 4th season at Essendon when made captain. Give Sharp #6 and the captaincy next year.

Yeah he was 22, but it was still his second season when he was named captain
You must be incorrect. I called him a strong pressure player early this season and was confidently informed that I was wrong because he had zero tackles in his second game.

He is the sort of player Dodoro would never have drafted. That ■■■■ did more to destroy this club than Knights, Worsfold, Scott combined. I almost weep for the amount of genuine talent that fraud ignored, all so he could draft the sort of kid he could never be, a preppy, private school prefect.

It should have been retired when he retired. It certainly shouldn’t be given to any draftee or developing player.
retiring #5s is the dumbest practice.

No need to put the pressure of captaincy on him for 3-4 years. Once we are back on the up and Sharp has 100 games into him feels the perfect time to give him the captaincy. Bringing him into the leadership group to learn next couple of years will give him a good platform.

I think Grimes was maybe 2 years older than Trengove, but Trengove must have been like 3rd year or something?
Yeh, he may well be future captain, but I’d be happy to let McGrath shield these guys from the heat for a few years before they take over.
