Because I’m very good at identifying talent.
Love how the kid looks like he’s 37, just stepped out of the blue oyster bar and would never let a team mate being pushed around. Can’t wait to see him play
Strikes me as the kind of player where we see his best on game day., not in training sessions.
I thought Lachie Neale was Crossley crazy.
Lachie Neale is also good at identifying talent
Apparently good at tapping it as well
Ummm…
Sharp looks like he should have a durry hanging out the side of his mouth.
I’m pretty sure the Dazed & Confused character David Wooderson (an older dude hanging out with high school kids) was based upon Sharp’s last 2 under age seasons.
Can’t wait to see him bash up some Hawks players a couple of don’t agrues would be sweet
Will be interesting to see if Sharp is played round one, if everyone is fit.
Even assuming Sharp replaces Setterfield, Setters, Parish, Merrett, Durham and Caldwell have only played together in the same team twice in the last two years.
The vibe of this kid feels extremely different to anyone we’ve drafted in the last decade, looking forward to see what he brings, especially in terms of leadership
Its nice for once to actually see us drafting a few more alpha male types, who at least look like competitors through pre draft videos and training.
We will be sh*t for a couple more years imo - but you cant knock us for building a platform off competitor types. Robey, Sharp, Caddy, Kako, Roberts, Clarke, Johnson…all seem like natural competitors and actual natural footballers with clear roles.
It certainly is refreshing from years of drafting skinny runt althletes “who could be anything, can play back and forward, we see him eventually a midfielder”
Thanks Dodo you fraud
Matt Rosa seems to value competitors/footballers over pure athletes that could be anything
“really surreal”…? Unreal!
I guess if he works on the mo it could approach Village People territory?
Not sure that is true. This is the list of all the first rounders Dodoro picked back to 2007. Not sure pure athletes is accurate.
2022 - Tsatas
2021 - Hobbs
2020 - Perkins, Cox and Reid
2019 - None
2018 - None
2017 - None
2016 - McGrath
2015 - Parish, Francis
2014 - Langford, Laverde
2013 - None
2012 - Daniher
2011 - Kavanagh
2010 - Heppell
2009 - Melksham
2008 - Hurley
2007 - Myers
Why did you have to post this straight after lunch?
many of these are neither athletes nor footballers.
We probably haven’t used a top 10 pick on a pure athlete since Bolton. Maybe Cox?
