No carry on. He’s been ordinary the last few games. No disputing that. To be fair though he may have copped an injury in this last outing. Hope when he comes back in he performs better.
Rewatched the first 45 minutes of the game. In hindsight, possibly was harsh on Green. If he’d got a free kick as he should have for that high contact he’d have had a decent period. He’d have had a direct assist, maybe a goal if he kicks straight and a number of “nearly” pieces of play (once he got free in the pocket and was targeted but McKernan lead his man to the same spot, and one beautiful bit of play on the wing where he beat his man, gave off, led forward and Bags handballed behind him).
I believe Green was pretty forgettable after that point, but was it also when he got injured? In which case he might have an excuse.
Just copied this over from the Colyer thread. Whenever he’s played VFL this year, he’s been pretty dominant. Should we be playing him more up the ground at AFL level? What’s role is he actually doing at VFL level when he’s getting these numbers?
