Nah he wasn’t rubbish. He was better, he wasn’t amazing by any stretch but he didn’t actually look to be completely devoid of confidence like he has for the past two months. Broke tackles, hit the ball at pace a couple of times and generally used the ball well. When someone has been so poor I’m only looking for little signs. There’s a broader question about whether the coaches can get the best out of him and his overall effectiveness but tonight was a step in the right direction.
