forget about where he was drafted, 19 touches 10 marks and a goal exclusively as a lead up half forward is a good game. His kicks inside 50 weren’t bad generally, it was very difficult to find a free player with the giants flooding back.

He was servicable today. Nothing more.
He’s had 105 games to deliver a couple of good to average games

Difference between a professional football club and us. We applaud 100 games players with a couple of good moments. Meanwhile, in the professional world, he would have been traded two years ago. We are the absolute best at accepting mediocrity.

He played his role so yes I’m comfortable with that game. Like I said he needs to keep building but he played his role. Was more meaningful than at least 8-9 other players for us today. Not sure what you’re expecting from a lead up half forward, look at the stats from any team this week. There wouldn’t be more than a handful of lead up half forwards with a better stat line.

He was okay today.
Not sure why certain posters can’t just judge him on his game, rather than his start to the season.
Everyone in the know knew he shouldn’t have played early.
Sometimes he kicked to stagnant forwards who had no separation on their men (once May, once Caddy).
Without knowing what his alternative options were, I feel the criticism in game is over the top.
That’s the nature of the Game Day thread I guess.

As I said in the game thread, I am not paying any compliments to senior/experienced players who have shown a glimpse of form in the footy wasteland.
Their just flaky and will fold up like past performances when the heat comes on a bigger stage.

His biggest problem from today alone, was that GWS ran through his man a lot. He, like others, is not good defensively most of the time.

100% this. We are such a meek club, people look at his game - a 100 game player mind you - and think it was good enough.
His biggest problem is that he looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane.
