No they won’t.
He’s on 100 games at 23 years of age.
For someone that’s likely to play 200+ games of AFL footy, he cops an awful lot of criticism on this site.
Not saying the last 25-30 games haven’t been disappointing.
There is a player there though, just not the Messiah we are hoping for.
The criticism he cops is mainly based around effort or lack of it, so he deserves every bit that comes his way
Not “jour” but “journée” which has the idea of a day’s length. And the meaning has broadened out considerably since the Middle Ages. The Wikipedia article is well worth reading - it even has sections on the differing uses of the word in the USA and Australia.
The fact he is on 100 games is an absolutely indictment on our club, the coaching and the talent here and absolutely no bearing on his performance. If he had been turning in the sort of performances he has at any other club he would be no where near their team.
I’m as disappointed as anyone on the site with his stagnation.
Nonetheless, he was developing nicely up to 70-75 games played.
Recency bias is strong on Blitz.
I still think there is a half decent footballer there.
Another team will bring it out.
bro r u?
recency bias its like his last 2 years fkn. He has never been a good player or close to it. That’s the recency. This lifetime on earth.
That said i prefer him on the list to merrett so he can stay. go hard mr perkins! we support you in 2026.
Either way the ‘journey’ but if journeyman has nothing to do with travelling place to place.
So a journeyman is a tradie?
I would argue the modern definition, as applied to sports, includes the concept of moving between multiple clubs, irrespective of the etymology
Maybe drafting Cumming or Robey will sting Perko in to gear.
Reverse gear.
I think there is a second layer of recency bias going on here. Perkins hasn’t been rated highly at the end of a season since 2021. Almost every year since then, we’d see a glimmer of his ability early in a season, but his stocks almost always fall post the bye (if not earlier). There have been concerns over his development since about game 30.
He’ll reverse over one of them in the car park before training to protect his spot in the team?
For a professional sporting club it amazes me how they miss obvious flaws in his game year after year. Any idiot needs to see he needs to grow his hair back.
Brad already has that covered.
I feel like his conditioning / training has sort of gone the wrong way
When he started he had burst and power but no tank. He’d play a great quarter then go AWOL.
Now he seems to have tank but not the burst/power. Just floats in and out (but for the whole game). Wonder if they’ve spent too much effort increasing his cardio, at the expense of explosivity?
His genuine problem is he isn’t quick. His top speed isn’t near other players, we saw it when he chased butters out of the square last year and butters just pulled away. I know hooker tried working on his pace, and I think Archie needs to as well.
Despite his size and strength, we need to put away the concept of him as a midfielder and keep him closer to goal. He finished 3rd in our goal kicking and that ability to shake a tackle is important if it can allow him a quick shot at goal.
Surely this guy is being talked up in trades?
If not, the name Teflon comes to mind.
Interesting, when I finished my practical examination as a plumber the exam was called a journeyman’s exam.
Still think when your talking football players it’s got to do with playing at multiple clubs ![]()
