It was about 2 minutes into the last. Perkins gets the ball on the HBF after some good close in work by Parish and Zach and he kicks it up to our vacant 50 where Caddy is in a foot race with 2 or 3 Fark Carlton players. For memory it was Weitering who gets there first and fumbles it out, Perkins comes in to pick up the scraps and instead of attacking it full tilt he goes half hearted with one hand in a feeble attempt and Saad knocks him off the ball and they get the ball and stream forward where they mark it inside 50 and have a shot on goal

I don’t think it’s scared of contact either, there are plenty of highlights of him attacking the footy with reckless abandonment. I think it’s more a confidence in his ability and opponent getting into his head a bit and he goes off his game completely.
The indecision and anxiety is pouring out of him right now.

Gee people see what they want to see! He’s on the half back flank where he effects a good clearing kick to Caddy’s advantage and then runs 70 metres to follow up and assist. You had Guelfi, Wright and Kako all in support and they all rush to the ball instead of holding their width and pouncing on the inevitable loose ball. Then you have Hobbs who arrives after Perkins (where the ■■■■ was he when Perkins kicks that ball?) also watching as Perkins gets to the loose ball. Saad did the smart thing and pushes him over the ball where Ollie Hollands (also doing the smart thing and waiting for the fucken ball to spit out) picks it up and away Carlton go. You then want to blame him for the coast to coast? What the ■■■■ are Roberts and Martin doing so far up the ground? Hollands runs that ball out and Hobbs was playing on him on the wing in that moment but that’s okay because Hobbs is true blue collar and was at the contest! But as I say people see and believe what they want to.

I think Brad also noticed it. Perkins was subbed pretty soon after.
That’s not even mentioning his and Hobbs’ half hearted jogging after Acres when he kicked that goal from the boundary. Caddy barrelled past them after him.
