welcome.
Always good to have a guy who supported the dons come home, hope he can add some desperation and experience like James Kelly
pretty easy to understand.
Great backup ruck if one of our two go down. (Already one down)
Great teacher to Draper and Bryan who are both still learning.
And someone who will move in to coaching.
Works a treat I reckon.
ANNOUNCED
The issue is I don’t think he’s backup, I think Scott will be playing him every game he’s fit because he loves to play his oldies over the likes of Bryan who arguably got a rough end of the stick this year.
My worry is Bryan goes somewhere else to be number 1 ruck when his time is done and then we’re left with just Draper.
But yes, I agree with everything else you’ve said.
Now if they double the age you’ll be in with a chance!
Maybe we need a Goldstein for some daily Two Minutes Hate
Bradford is going to give him more games/TOG than Bryan isn’t he…
Our best Ruckman since Madden. The final piece of the premiership puzzle is in place.
I was just going to say, looking at recent photos he could be the long lost eldest Madden brother. Welcome home son
Welcome Big Boi Goldy. He is a required player for a position we have little coverage in. Draper is injured and it is unknown when he will be available for 2024, if at all. Bryan is young and still raw and not yet ready for full time ruck duties. While he needs to be given more time as the number #1, he isn’t ready yet. Goldy covers the interim and then moves into a coaching position. This is a long term investment in the future, and l like it.
Dodo says Drapes plays week 1. From my reading of the Trade thread Dodoro is the most trusted and admired voice at the EFC so you can take that to the bank
The Essendon incumbency will freshen up Goldy a bit I think, albeit just for the one season, so he will probably be our best ruckman… it might hold back Drapers career for a year, but since they are about 10 years apart in age, its not such an big issue. The main thing is to get Draper fully fit given his chronic groin injury
As a backup ruckman i think he will be fantastic, plus he is an experienced pro who will set the right example off the field in how to prepare properly etc
If he has been chosen by Scott to be a best 22 player ahead of Bryan…then I think Scott is a moron
I am really looking forward to seeing him dish out some of his dirty acts to opposition players now, instead of our players being on the receiving end
If we makes finals and he plays every game. Thats only another four years
I wasn’t being sarcastic. I can’t think of a Ruck on our list with a better body of work since Madden. He might only have 12 months left in his body, but can’t hurt having his class at our club that lacks it.
