Possiblyā¦ā¦it depends on how long he has had the calf injury for. If he has had pain/tightness for an extended period of time, that could have caused him to overcompensate unknowingly putting pressure on his achilles.
If it wasnāt anything he was carrying into the game, then that is unlikely to have been a factor in it.
I would also look at the field. Players and others have complained about how hard it is which can also be a factor in this type of injury.

Even if itās a partial tear donāt they cut the Achilles to promote a clean healing /growth back ?
