You’re a Potato
That is a pretty impressive post after 6 years in the wilderness.
I would like to see what he has to offer further up the field in the back half of the season. Whether that’s as a wing, onballer or as a HF I think some exposure would be nice.
No, no, no. Essendon have always played players in their wrong positions for the past two decades. Leave him at half back!
???
Nick’s ACL happened inside the boundary, in a perfect legitimate, whilst certainly aggressive, textbook play.
Farrow’s push was fine if it also occurred inside the field of play. I obviously didn’t log in after last week’s game. Am stunned people are butt hurt about this one. Absolutely nothing to see here.
I thought he was pretty good yesterday, shows some great signs for a first year player.
He’s got time with the ball. Sign of a good player. Refuses to dump kick.
Have seen some nice side steps and evasive work the last few weeks. Has hit some really nice kicks that will only continue to get better as he plays more games and gets even more confident. One of those dependable 200 game players. Thought earlier on this year he was happy to pick up cheap kicks across half back and go side ways a lot.
He’s kind of like early days Heppell but with a better kick (though a little less assertive).
Good to see him backing himself more over the last couple of weeks. Up till now he’s looked for the quick handball rather than kick and seemed to rush himself. He’s reading the pace of the game much better now and it’s giving him the time to make better decisions by foot. I think he’ll be a beauty. Gary Foulds vibes?
I’ve thought this too, not as good a mark.
I think Heppell best football was played as a midfielder pre foot injury that’s why I see Farrow as a future midfielder.
His long term position will be in the midfield. Expect to see him there from 2028.
I would love to start him and Robey and Sharp in there next game for a centre bounce or a few.
Can already see Farrow has that ability to move around players like Watson / Pendlebury time slows down in the matrix. He works well under pressure.
Was interesting to watch a bit of Xavier Taylor in the VFL today. There was a bit of angst on blitz that we bypassed both he and Dovaston for Farrow and yes it’s early days but both those guys have struggled to make an impact at VFL level. Farrow has a way to go but certainly at this stage it’s looking like Rosa got that one right.
Dovaston’s too worried about egging people to play football.
I think he is one of our most important players for ball movement. He is a line breaker with his kicking , he was in the top few on ground for meters gained and I think our current squad lacks this style from half back /wing. Moving him into the midfield might impact that strength of his.
Only flaw is he lacks a bit of intensity when the opposition is around him and he needs to go hard and tackle. Otherwise he’s looking really handy. Great pick.
Spot on. Farrow I didn’t see translating to AFL, he looked quite slow and one sided at junior level.
I was hoping he would select Lindsay, followed by the two mentioned above ahead of Farrow.
Very happy to be proven wrong - although Lindsay looks good.
what attribute of his do you think benefits the team more playing in midfield? I really don’t see it. Prefer him distributing as a HFB or attacking wing
He has this one weird trick of often disposing of the ball towards a player on his own team. This may prove advantageous if our midfielders attempted it.
