#20 Jacob “Keg” Townsend

For me, it’s since Tom Cutler.

Good comparison. If Townsend adds a hard edge to our soft underbelly I’m happy.

Nonsense. Plenty of examples of players unexpectedly forcing their way into sides and improving the team.

If we have a core of group of players that play uncompromising tough football, that make tackles stick and also hurt then we are instantly improved.

Smith, Francis (his bumps are brutal), Redman and Ambrose are our current ones. Parish likes the niggle but he is not the same as the others.

Add Townsend and Hibberd and it is fairly solid.

Good to have a second premiership player on the list

I’m predicting that he will either be a success or he won’t.

You heard it here first.

It’s Essendon we don’t do success or not, we do mediocrity.

We are successful at being mediocre.

Townsend might be the missing ingredient for that mid-table finish we’ve been striving for.

Don’t mind the pick up, at the very least puts pressure on players to perform. Especially Langford.

Side note - afl needs to scrap all these drafts- just have 1 draft and the rest a free agent pool already, works everywhere else in the world!

You forgot to mention Stringer

I really like the pick ups

Townsend, Hibberd and Cutler
will do wonders for our team. They will release our lighter mids to play as outside skilful midfielders.

Exciting times ahead!!!

Wonder how long it will take before he ■■■■■■ off a teammate by drilling them in a tackle at training?

Who will it be?

My guess is zaharakis or Fanta second week back after Christmas.

Just someone please make sure we keep this guy and smith in seperate cages. We don’t want them taking each other out.

Big question is, are these guys better than Myers, Hocking and Howlett?

If not, we won’t improve.

Not sure he’ll fit into the midfield unless he is there for his defensive efforts tackling and crunching bigger bodies

I see him as a forward though

Heath is 31 and hasn’t played senior footy in 2 years so I’m going to say yes. Prime hocking probably not.

A vfl jobber is our starting centreman, love the optimism.

I don’t see him being better than Merret, Smith or parish but he doesn’t need to be either.
