Back to the round review though...
Absolutely rapt to have beaten @Crazy_Bomber. That's three in a row now so it gives us confidence that we're tracking in the right direction.
Matera, Beams (damn I've missed him the last two years) and Harbrow all smashed it today. Ryan Lester did what I expect of him (low to mid 60s) and Jack Lonie has continued to do enough to be good bench coverage.
I only got 1500+ once last year and once the year before so hopefully I can reach that target again this season.
On to next week...
I have @Vandrs who has found a way to continually beat me early on in his FF coaching career. I'm very mindful of a let down so hopefully my mob can actually keep up the good work and make Vandrs have to score heavily to win. A score between 1400 and 1450 is now an expectation and anything less would be considered poor form from this team.
I should get Jamie Elliott back next week, so he's likely to go into my 18 ahead of Jack Lonie.
Ben Kennedy might be a sneaky chance at a call up for Melbourne, but he's likely to start off the bench while he eases his way into the season.
Joe Atley might get a game as he performed well in SANFL and Hinkley did mention that he was disappointed with their contested ball winning but he's also likely to wait his time as a bench backup.
I'm not sure if Sam Butler will make it into WCE's named squad as he didn't play WAFL and I didn't think he was the travelling emergency either.
I'm tempted to throw Brett Eddy into the free agency scrap heap, but he might get 1 more chance to show what he has. He's surplus to my needs as I've got plenty of forwards who are scoring well and more consistent, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
I'm also tempted to throw Jackson Nelson back into the free agency heap, but he's fine to hang on to as bench coverage until Paparone forces his way into my best 18 ahead of Lester.
Darcy Gardner is most likely to be delisted. Don't know what I need exactly, but I'm sure to find someone in free agency to replace his mid 30s average.
Other than that, everyone is either injured or still playing reserves hoping to get a call up to seniors.
I didn't expect to get two wins from the games against MB, CB and Dunlop so I'm pretty bullish that we'll do well enough to cause some trouble in this comp. With the poor early season form from Goldstein, Viney Ward and Robbie Gray, I think there's still some upside in my team. Nick Haynes to a lesser extent has also had an underwhelming beginning to the season. If I ever get Bennell back to his best and Paparone cements a spot in my back 6, then I could really have something going here.
