That’s pretty much how I ran it except I was doing 3-2-1.
Top points always went to the highest scorer on the winning team
Tie-breakers were tricky to decide how to handle. I think in the end the best order would be:
- Winning team
- Frees against (lowest)
Nobody ever had identical stats on the same team
The other way I considered was to distribute the 3-2-1 to the winning team based on margin. Then I would have distributed the votes within that team.
Win by over 300 - get all the votes for your team
Win by 200-299 - get 3 and 2, loser gets 1
Win by 100-199 - get 3 and 1, loser gets 2
Win by 1-99 - get 3, loser gets 2 and 1
Main problem with that it that it’s already quite time consuming to do the count. It used to take me a 3-4 hours to trawl through all of the results from the season and double check everything. There may be faster ways, particularly if Dunlop keeps a scoring spreadsheet?
