Whoops. I’d actually support that one.
Re: Rosa. Of the 9 games studied, the only game Rosa legit played back was the final round when they heavily experimenting - of the 8 mid games, 5 times he finished in the top 3 mids - 3 of those having the most midfield time.
Re: Townsend - If people are going to vote to support him gaining F status, rather than following Dill’s suggestion of F, vote him FC - he has played 3 straight seasons as an inside mid at state level, including winning the Liston in that role this season - a mere 5 games of AFL shouldn’t render someone ineligible for a position they’ve consistently played for 3 seasons now.
Re: Westhoff. I concede the point that sometimes statistics can be misleading such as games where I wasn’t aware of what Hawthorn’s structure was and later Adelaide. Port’s structure was straight forward however and from my perspective when Westhoff played wing, he didn’t play it any differently than Polec or Amon. Personally I think we’re just interpreting the same information differently, you see him as legitimately playing back at times, and I see that as a being part of the wing role - every winger spends more time down back than an inside mid as they’re usually the best endurance runners in the side and can cover the ground in transition better than the inside guys. I agree we’re both firmly set in our opinions and any protracted debate will just have us both go round and round in circles and possibly not do either of us any favours. I always enjoy our spirited debates, and as always best of luck with the results.
That foggy trade is hilarious.
A 106pt mid & Rd 5 pick for a 61pt back
