2017 Fixture Leaks and Hopes

Will be interesting to see what happens with the MCG home matches. We are playing hawthorn in round 1 and then Collingwood ANZAC Day, so lock those two. Will the country game v Geelong be a home match? So two of Melbourne, Richmond, Carlton and Geelong won't be home matches.

You’d assume the home matches will be against Richmond and Carlton because they also finished bottom six, and we have to verse three sides from last years bottom six twice.

Country game will be away this year, club has been spruiking that home game members will be let in anyway.

Yep, that email was sent out a little while ago.

Cant wait for the Hawks game.

You could see the players lifted for the fans against Melbourne. They made a stand.

I get the feeling with a fan led march for R1 the returning players will want in on the action. For themselves, their team mates and the fans.

I think you will find we will stun the Hawks with a thumping.

Joe D to kick 6

Hurley with smash somebody.

Tippa will be awesome.

Watson will rip the game to shreds and show Tom Mitchell how a real inside footballer plays.

The EFC love in ■■■■ up at transport afterwards will be epic!

There’s going to be a Friday night game bulldogs vs gws. Take it to the bank.

We’ve suppppsedly got a NAB Challenge clash against Geelong in Bendigo.

Geelong starts the season taking on Fremantle (Subiaco Stadium), North Melbourne (Etihad Stadium), Melbourne (Etihad Stadium) and Hawthorn (MCG).

Doesn’t look like an early Essendon game

Apparently our Geelong v Essendon match is happening in May.

Country game is probably Round 8 then given Round 6 is still in April, and Round 7 we are supposedly playing Adelaide

Wouldnt be nice if our home ground was the G.

We’d prob get doubles this year against Richmond, Carlton, Collingwood and Hawthorn. And we would be a good thing against all of them.

Fit perfectly with the AFL fixture rules.

Yep. So that it coincides with the bye weekend in the country leagues and we can get maximum attendance from country folk. But not to capacity.

No. unless they’ve changed the ‘rules’ again, it’s 3 bottom 6 teams, 1 top 6 and 1 middle 6.

It’s minimum of 2, maximum of 3 games vs fellow bottom 6 teams.

except when we wanna do something else

Two potential easy beats in FarkCarlton and Brisbane rounds 2 and 3. AFL looking to get everyone on board the hype train the first few weeks

People will read into it whatever they want. Some will be convinced AFL is screwing us… e.g. Travel to Brisbane and FarkCarlton when we are still gelling and not ready to capitalise. AFL screwing us yet again!!!
