2017 MRP/Tribunal

I don’t see much relevance in comparing events from nearly 10 years ago. Things have changed since then.

All just a smoke screen so the weapon can sign a new contract with GWS.

Well, yeah. They have.
The AFL has decided it doesn’t make any sense to suspend players anymore.
They’d much rather just take their money.

It’s the umpires job to umpire - not the players. The offence deserves 5 or 6 weeks with a one or two week discount for a good record. Houli deserves at least double the 2 weeks given. AFL wants the right message sent to the general population and I will be surprised if their appeal isn’t upheld.

I wouldn’t actually mind if Houli was given four weeks.
The problem is that people don’t get suspended much anymore.
Obviously intentional acts are described as negligent or reckless to get the penalty down.
So does it it deserve four weeks in isolation? Maybe.
Does it deserve four weeks in the context of every suspension given in the last three years (or much longer)?
■■■■ no.

And suddenly people are arguing the result of the action rather than the act, which is a bit weird.

Round 10 last year.
Three clear punches to the head.
Out of the play, unlike Houli, absolutely intentional.
One week.

Deserves a life ban from footy for being involved with someone from Hawthorn who failed to sack Clarkson or a raw onion muncher.

Round five last year.
Again, deliberate.
Again, not as a part of the play.
Elbow to the back of the head, this time. Far more dangerous.
Two weeks.

Selwood got off for similar this year too

Waleed is Egyptian. Bachar is Lebanese. Or are they just all the same?

To be fair, they’re both kinda Jesus-coloured.

Concur.
If anything, I think 4 weeks is a little light.

Going by all the paintings, Jesus was white.

Jewish Albino.

Pretty sure they are the same person?

In fact I believe he wore Hugo Boss and drove an AMG Benz.

In fact, save for a little difference in hairline, TheDJR bears a striking resemblance…

What does the J stand for, D J R?

WHAT DOES THE J STAND FOR?!

Yeah, regarding the hairline, I have been known to cry out loud ‘My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?’
