2018 Essendon VFL and VFLW Best and Fairest Night 27/9/2018

Check the tweets tonight on @EssendonVFL (https://twitter.com/EssendonVFL) or the club website

Some of the best players this year in with a chance tonight ( due to playing almost every game )

Dylan Clarke, got a heap of it, averaging about 30 disposals. Our best in the Prelim.
Aaron Heppell. Midfield role or back, he was everywhere ( VFL TOTY Team of the year )
Danny Younan. Consistent performer averaging about 2 goals a game. TOTY
Hind, have ball will run. Excitement machine TOTY
Ridley, fantastic across half back, gets in all the right positions with elite disposal.
Mutch. Another midfielder who got plenty of ball.
Hartley. Owned the full back position this year.
Stewart. Hero of one of the finals, kicked us into the prelim.

A key player who will poll well is Big Sammy Draper, another; Zerk who was very good in his first year.

Cameos from Darcy Parish, Laverde, Myers, Francis, Langford but they belong at a higher level.

Is there a book on this?? Wonder what the odds are on Hind and Draper??

Danny and HepA had good years, Sammy had a brilliant 2nd half.

The voting system enables every player to get votes in every game: The 4 Essendon VFL coaches rank each players’ performance from zero to five. The maximum votes a player can receive per round is 20.

Last seasons result was

1 – Heath Hocking (217)
2 – Kobe Mutch (213)
3 – Nick O’Brien (210)
4 – Craig Bird (199)
5 Dylan Clarke (199)
6 – Alex Boyse (197)
7 – Josh Begley (182)
8 – Kyle Langford (180)
9 – Nick Hind (178)
10 – Mason Redman (177)

Hmmm, … and had a much better year this year by all metrics.

Soooo, … whats he paying again?

Disappointed I can’t go tonight, had a death in the family and am away interstate, some things are bigger than footy.
The favorites have been summed up pretty well I’d say, reckon BZT will feature a bit for a first year guy too. Harts, Hindy, Clarkey, Hepp, Danny, Leuey, Frang, Rids and Mutchy should all poll well, I’m sure I’ve missed some.

HepA’s form improves as the year progresses. Lock it in.

Great effort by the berzerker so far.

Her votes might beat her tackle count!

Agree, lock in HepA

I actually wrote that before the round 16 votes came in… a tad surprised it was so close (but still basically decided).

The strength and conditioning coach, pinched him from Willy FC

There’s not much that Mark doesn’t do in the background to support the girls.
