2018 Essendon VFL and VFLW Best and Fairest Night 27/9/2018

If anyone ever gets the full vote list, I would be interested in seeing what it looks like when players are ranked by “Points per game”.

Definitely put his hand up again for Rookie consideration at the very least.

Big well done to Draper. Top 5 finish in a VFL best and fairest after 5 years of playing the game and 2 years at this level, for a big man… is exceptional.

I reckon big Sam is a real talent, looked a cut above in the two finals. Just needs to keep building his tank and his work around the ground.

Really good showing from BZT, he showed what he is capable of, once his body fills out and preseasons have come and gone.

Well done by HeppA. His 2017 campaign was ruined by having his knee surgery just before the season and missing half a season in what was a real momentum stopper.

This year he played a lot of time as a mid and combined very well with Draper, picking up a lot of clearances. He has clearly been working on identifying targets and kicking to them as he comes out of contested situations and reducing the “hack kick forward” aspect of his game which certainly was holding him back in earlier years.

This year he was more damaging with the ball in hand which compared with Clarke ( who mostly handballed out of stoppages) and as a strong contested player gave him the edge over Hind, who was arguably more damaging and certainly more spectacular with his run and gun.

A. very well deserved winner of the B and F this year imo.

What would Aaron Heppell be earning a year in the VFL?

Probably earn more in suburban footy.
