Incredibly lucky to get the win this week. I hate the bye rounds but the averages of my bye players is what got me over the line. So many players down on their averages this week. At least the rested players had no chance to let me down.

The good:

  1. 8 wins in row. Not far outside top 4.
  2. Fyfe will score 200 at some stage.
  3. It’s a win.

The bad:

  1. My backs got smashed. Webster is a consistent 90 averaging back. Rice was looking very good. May their injuries be real short term.
  2. Lukas Webb is the definition of a player who is too good for vfl and still not good enough for afl.
  3. Did not enjoy this week’s reality check.

We are ripe for the picking next week Vandrs.

#1525

And 8 is we’re it’ll stop!!!

#1526

Can I get a score check?
I should get Murphy’s bye average of 50 instead of Biggs score of 44. By my count I should have 701 + 70 (Haynes) + 50 (Murphy replacing Newman in the 18) + 61 (Corr) + 108 (Beams) + 89 (Ward) +82 (Viney) + 88 (Goldstein) + 100 (ANB) which gives me 1349.
Off UF, Stoops should have 753 + 82 (Cutler) + 75 (Rich) + 84 (Saad) + 56 (Scott Thompson) + 60 (Hannan) + 98 (Stringer) +75 (Simpkin) + 61 (Wood) which gives him 1344.

#1527

Grr. Knew I shouldn’t have pushed through too as errors were far more likely to occur.

You are quite correct. I overlooked Murphy for you and read Harmes’s score as Hannan for Stoops.

Have re-checked every other game tallied by hand and found a further error with the Fudge-Craze match, Fudge’s final score should’ve been 1464 not 1475. My match with Dill was run through the predicted score system and should’ve been exempt from error, nonetheless I rechecked that match and found no errors.

This is the re-updated ladder:

Position PosLR Team GP Wins Losses Draws For Against % Pts
1 1 Awesome Scotty 13 11 2 0 20022 17808 112.4 44
2 2 Fudge 13 11 2 0 18635 16903 110.2 44
3 3 Mad Bomber 13 11 2 0 18077 17083 105.8 44
4 4 westozziebomber 13 10 3 0 18138 16878 107.5 40
5 6 Allblack 13 9 4 0 18354 17270 106.3 36
6 5 wimmera 13 9 4 0 18862 17756 106.2 36
7 7 Windy Dill 13 8 5 0 17565 17234 101.9 32
8 8 Stoops 13 7 6 0 17144 17243 99.4 28
9 10 Blummers 13 7 6 0 16944 17354 97.6 28

12 12 Vandrs 13 5 8 0 17187 17658 97.3 20
13 13 wezza 13 4 9 0 16508 17004 97.1 16
14 14 Crazy Bomber 13 4 9 0 16214 17456 92.9 16
15 15 Dunlop 13 3 10 0 16367 17201 95.2 12
16 16 topdon 13 3 10 0 15610 17148 91.0 12
17 18 Alber Goodthur 13 2 11 0 15528 17890 86.8 8
18 17 Jefferson 13 2 11 0 15149 17561 86.3 8

Sincerest apologies to all involved. This is a matter I take extremely seriously and will be working like crazy to ensure all bye round games are tallied via the same method as predicted scores. When available you and Fudge will also receive the first updated current squads.

#1528

No dramas.
The bye rounds are always very tough to work out what is going on. I really get confused with the UF scoring predictions.

#1529

The Good
1 Survived another bye round.
2 Seb Ross returned to form.

The Bad
1 Got fooled in to thinking Jack Darling was going to be back sooner than I expected as he was originally named as an emergency by the Eagles.
2 Seb Ross returned to form and now he has the bye.
3 Another bye round.

#1530

Ballsy trade from @wimmera1 but for far too long have other coaches thought “it’s not me”. Love a coach that goes for it!

#1531

The good:

  1. Sneaking home with a win.
  2. Wingard getting midfield minutes.
  3. Lyon returns.

The bad:

  1. Playing two short.
  2. Midfield is struggling big time.
  3. My back line is a disaster zone.

#1532

The good…

  • We won!
  • Jed Lamb was inspired by a chat from Andrew Phillips. He won us this game.
  • Good coaching by loopholing Biggs. If I didn’t do that, I would have lost this game.

The bad…

  • Was on track for 1400 until Duncan and Tuohy turned in howlers. It’s been a common theme weekly that two or three players play incredibly poorly.
  • Bennell with a wrist injury… This guy would injure himself pulling off a one cheek sneak.
  • Still have a lot of crabs in my 18. Until players return from injury, they’re a necessity.

The ugly…

  • Only 4 players hit their averages this week and only two of them are keepers (Robbie Gray, Matera). It’s been the story of our season.
  • I’ve got a very tough run for the rest of the season. Wob, Fudge, Neela and wim in the last six games.
  • Even Jake Carlisle thinks this team is farked.

#1533

the good

  • got a win

  • Clarke and Ainsworth performing strongly

  • My mids hitting form

The bad

  • daniel scoring 16 and Astbury providing a 0

  • overall still a substandard score

#1534

Very astute trading from wimm as I suspect he knew Berry was becoming a pure C at year’s end. wimm had 3 guys who narrowly avoided becoming pure Cs at the end of last season of whom Berry was one. He still has 3 guys likely to become pure Cs at years end barring a position change before year’s end. So he has offloaded one mid for another more higher scoring mid.

Excellent trading.

AG’s going to be in for a long rebuild as he has turfed his entire (young) starting midfield within 10 months.

#1535

It will be a long rebuild but I knew that when I made the decision to commit to it.

Berry I took in the knowledge that he will become a pure c this year or next, I knew he wouldn’t maintain his dual status. I also know that he will become a durable and consistent scorer. will he reach crouch’s average? maybe, maybe not. if he doesn’t it won’t be far from it.

I also picked up another 1st rounder and 2nd rounder in a deep draft. If I use them wisely in conjunction with my existing picks I will hopefully walk away with 4 good players, 2 of whom I hope will make an immediate impact and the other 2 I’ll be happy to wait to develop.

I see this trade as losing 1 pure c with a good average for 3 players that could reach that level.

#1536

I think it’s a win-win.
Not just saying that.
Superdraft and the Myrmidons have four picks in the top forty.
So far.

#1537

look I hope he does well for you, at the same time I hope you take a tumble down the ladder and join @Jefferson and me. the view from down here is nice and I’d love for that pick 16 to become a top 5 pick

Wow, CB.
Outstanding.

#1540

Wow, the big dogs are going trade for trade today! I love seeing a premiership race.

Took a risk with Lobb but he fits my profile and Kruezer and will retire eventually.

It’s a sad day at Stop! Hammertown as we farewell club legend Heath Shaw.

Shaw joined the club with one of the last selections in the inaugural BBFF draft before the start of the 2006 season. It was his late 2005 form that convinced the club to make the selection. Shaw had played Collingwood’s last 6 games of the year and averaged 68 points per game. The 2006 draft was conducted before the decision was made to conduct a keeper league and the late selection of Shaw paid off again, and again, and again for Stop! Hammertown.

In 2006 Shaw raised his game, averaging 88 points per game. The rest is history. An elite performer in defence, he would maintain this level of performance for the next 12 years and would be pivotal in several flag attempts.

His career wasn’t without controversy. First there was the late 2008 drink-driving incident that led to a late-season ban for Shaw and Stop! Hammertown teammate Alan Didak. The incident would severely hamper the team which was a flag-contender that year. Then in 2011, Shaw missed the FF finals due to a gambling ban for placing a wager on Nick Maxwell to kick the first goal in a match. Incidents aside, Shaw has been incredibly reliable and has racked up well over 250 games for the green, white and blue.

It is difficult to do justice to the contribution Shaw has made to Stop! Hammertown. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give, is that for his whole career as a Collingwood and GWS player and one of the league’s most hated players, I always liked him. He might have been a bit of a ■■■■, but he was my ■■■■.

I hope he can have some success with WOB and that I can use the picks I’ve received in return to find the next club legend.

How do I get the trade done on UF?

I can’t seem to do a trade where no player comes back my way.
