WAIVERS AND FREE AGENTS
Beginning the first Wednesday night at 9pm after the first round of the AFL season waivers and free agency will take place. This will continue every week with all teams able to participate up until the pre round 19 selections.
At this point only teams still participating in finals will be permitted to make either waiver or free agency moves.
All requests should be sent to Commissioner Fogdog prior to 9pm every Wednesday night, clearly stating the requested player or players to drop and player or players to add. If a team chooses to use a waiver claim this should be clearly stated in the request.
Requests must be made in the following format:
In: First name Surname
Out: First name Surname
The results of the waiver and free agency requests will be processed and published to the league by 10pm the following Thursday (unless otherwise advised), with any list changes on the Ultimate Footy website to be the responsibility of each coach.
All players delisted from a team are immediately placed on waivers. Upon the occurrence of this event a player will remain on waivers until the next round of waivers have been processed. All teams, except for the team that delisted the player, are eligible to place a claim for the delisted player during this waiver period.
Teams who delist a player are unable to reclaim that player via waivers, they can only place a free agent claim for him in the hope that he clears waivers.
Where there are competing waiver wire claims for a delisted player, the team that is highest on the waiver list will gain the player.
Each time a delisted player is added to a team’s list, that team is moved to the end of the waiver list. This “rolling” list stays in effect for the entire season.
The determination of the waiver list at the opening of a new fantasy season is derived by reversing the final ladder from the preceding season.
If nobody claims a player during the waiver period, he becomes a free agent.
II. Free Agents
All players not listed by a side the previous week as well as all delisted players who clear waivers are deemed free agents. Free agents are available during the weekly free agency period and are processed in a similar way to waivers. These requests are processed in reverse ladder order at the end of the preceding week of games.
III. Weekly Signing Deadline
For each round, players must be signed by the start of the first game of that round.
Teams that fail to do this will be automatically prevented by Ultimate Footy from naming that player for the round.
