2022 trade speculation (Part 3)

Disgruntled Georgiaties might have been an option, no. Perhaps Schofield :man_shrugging: be cheap since he’s been delisted.

It’s 11pm on a Saturday. Don’t not pick my criteria!

All I’m saying - we call last trade period a failure yet we are one of the few that brought in a player with any impact

I hope you’re going to do a 2022 version on thursday to show the big difference between all the teams from last year and this year, cos um yeah seems an odd post to take a stand on.

How is last year a failure when we performed on par with the major clubs? Why is that odd?

Two Shiels dont make a wright

I see a positive here.
No one can blame Essendon for not being able to get deals done this trade period. And some of the trades that were a ā€œlay down mazaireā€ are still not happening. The only way the media can keep us in the spotlight, ( and the Hawks/Clakko/Fagan out) is by manufacturing faux outrage for the plight of a stinking rich ex-CEO.

Shiel is worth pick 40 at best

Yes. But it has to come naturally. Our mids aren’t contested warriors week in and out. If a coach demands it and they don’t deliver they need to get dropped. I called on Rutten to drop Shiel and McGrath because if he didn’t make a statement it would be rutten who was dropped. Exactly what did and didn’t happen

Where does the improvement come from though?

That was a really strong draft year, no one wanted to give up high draft picks. So that might effect your argument. For what it’s worth I’m not fussed being low key during trade week. Sometimes it’s the best way for something really good to fall in your lap.

Future third rounder for Francis, says Sam Landsberger in Herald Sun.
Something about Setterfield too but the story is paywalled.

Not only that, their future sons are refusing to play for us too.

If everything breaks right for a bunch of the young guys and we lose no one significant and gulp we start to stay healthy then maybe sure, our future development still remains so high risk to me, thin margin of error which we’ve no track record at being able to overcome
