How many 28-29yo guys get a 2 year AFL deal off half a good state league year?

Reckon that’s the closest Carlton will ever get they faced two of the most flakeist teams in finals in Melbourne and Sydney. Blitz may laugh but Essendon with a fit healthy squad and in form would have beaten both those sides in finals and made it to a pre lim.

Serious question, when did that last happen ?

Would say in 2013 legit looked like a flag contender for 85% of the season

We had a pretty fit squad for most of 2017 iirc

I see it as Carlton cashing in when our season shat the bed after we beat them.

It was like one of those 80s body swapping movies.

Was it played on a Friday by any freaky chance?

Get the feeling the fans perception of McGrath is quite to internal clubs thoughts.

The fans aren’t the ones that haven’t won a final since 2004

2017 we had a pretty good run. Although I think we were missing a few for the final.

The article below talks about a different scenario but as I don’t know, what are the rules for first time eligible draftees? Can they not enter the draft and be selected in the supplemental preseason draft for…… nothing? Is this a loophole where you really could get to the club of your choosing? Could this also apply to free agents?

No you must nominate for the draft if never been on an afl list. Only time you can bypass is a cat b rookie where the player has not played for 3 years at any level.

What a compromised draft
Get rid of this academy priority rubbish

Get rid of anything that doesn’t benefit Essendon I say.
