Fair to say I was not happy with my draft, which is not ideal when youā€™re coming in with keepers that youā€™re also not happy with. Basically ended up with one player who I want lo g term, a couple of speculative types, a couple of ā€œrole playersā€ who probably need to play every week to get me to 18, and thatā€™s about it.

Rebuilding an inherited ageing list is a slow process particularly when you end up with young top 10 players who donā€™t end up not playing football

I understand the frustration, and yes itā€™s a hard road to rebuild.
Iā€™ll be interested to see where my squad is at this year, and manage my aggressiveness at the trade table accordingly.

@Crazy_Bomber

Iā€™ve got my next pick on auto pick, so youā€™ll have both of yours to pick

Itā€™s like rebuilding a real list!

Over the years Iā€™ve had several early picks, Josh Ward, Will Phillips. George Wardlaw and Finn Callaghan. It looks like finally Iā€™ve hit a superstar but itā€™s taken me a few goes and a few years.

and if I put someone in there - can I pick up FA today or is the rule to wait until after R1?

Also, what the hell is with the projections? I thought they overhauled them, but for example, they have JHF projected 75. He finished the year averaging 90 and trending up, Butters is out, he has scored well all preseason - he is still young. These guys just use a RNG.

If the word out of freo is correct about Bolton and Walters then we are going to be stuffed for Round 1 , lol.

So far, unavailable -

Bolton
Walters
Pickett
Stringer
Flanders
Pittonet
Coleman

If eligible for the injury list you will be able to pick someone today/tomorrow for rd 1.

Probably just need to clarify with @redbull what makes a player eligible to go on one of the AFL fantasy injury spots. Our old rule was LTI eligible (min 8 weeks) and the player had to have been injured when your player. I suspect the AFL Fantasy criteria will just be any player that has an injury icon next to their name. But if we have a different criteria to AFL fantasy it is going to make the admin a bit annoying and whether we need people to lodge requests on blitz before picking up etc.
So if you have someone who fits under the old rule of LTI with an injury they picked up when on your list, I would feel free to pick someone up off the FA list (which for example I will be doing with Nic Newman). Maybe wait until next week if it is in the other group.

The Injury Replacement (IR) allows teams to store an injured player in an additional lineup spot on their bench. This is great if teams donā€™t want to be forced to drop a star player when they get injured, and risk losing them to another team in order. Players must have injured status to be eligible for the IR position.

Given it will remove any admin im happy for any player who can move to the IR position to be stored there until fit. Happy to hear other thoughts/suggestions.

So if they are injured can I just move then there regardless of how long theyā€™re injured for and grab an fa? Personally then prompted to cut someone once the injured player becomes available again.

Also how are we managing fa priority and nomination cut off etc this season.

I grabbed Oā€™Donnell last night (for aish) not l knowing in going to need at least one defender.

I donā€™t see a ruck fa who is playing at in sick with that donut

Happy to use my two slots if itā€™s all okay.

Have moved Liam Henry to injury slot and grabbed alex Pearce

This definitely feels like a change to expectations from before the draft. ie drafting someone who was already injured I was under the impression you couldnā€™t move to an injury slot, and that you needed agreement that an injury was reported as >8 weeks before you could move anyone there?

Happy to do anything that makes management of the league easier. Itā€™s just a pretty big change.

I do understand that.
As it happens I took a chance on a few injured players in the draft, but obviously I didnā€™t know this would be available when I was drafting them.

The other league has decided to go with no injury slots whatsoever.

Iā€™ve just picked up two players. Happy to delist if thatā€™s the call.

Edit: the way it stands, you could probably permanently run a list of 32, just replacing two injured players in the slot all year.

I am sure Iā€™ll be the poster boy for drafting injured players as I took Jagga with a first round. I havent replaced him yet so open to a redbull decision. To be clear - i had no idea we had IR so I was just seeing it as a top 2 fantasy rookies available at 9 and a stash
