We can only play 2 of Draper Wright and Bryan.

Jones is streets ahead of Cox

I like Hayes but if he is picked over a fit Reid we are ■■■■■■.

Jones is streets ahead of Cox in the first quarter only, then neither of them perform.

I wouldn’t have Wright at CHF, I don’t think he can play that position. It’s either leads from the goal square or his backside on the pine.

Otherwise I don’t mind that team. You can start with Reid listed, but only god knows if he will be fit round one. Roberts could be very nice in the half back line.

Ridley. McKay. McGrath.

Redman. Hayes. Martin.

Duursma. Parish. Roberts.

Davey. Caddy. Perkins.

Kako. Reid. Langford.

Bryan. Durham. Zac

Cox. Caldwell. Tsatas. Jones.

Hobbs.

I would give Martin another ~10 games off HB to see if he can clean up his kicking else swap with Roberts or SEH and Martin forward

Hayes – 3rd year so its time

Davey – pace and pressure

Ried – FF – why not, played some footy forward /ruck so why not

Cox to give Bryan a break in the ruck and/or go forward

I’d have Perkins out, Martin and El Hawli into the wing/hf rotation and Roberts to halfback.

Depth
Bryan, Jones, Saad, Davey, Setterfield, Shiel, Goldstein, Hayes, Laverde, Baldwin? , Prior?

Prospects
Unwin, Johnson, Gerreyn, Clarke, Lual, Vigo, Nyugen?,

Shiel is most likely gone end of the season. I would love it if he played 15 games to get to 100 as he showed he can still be impactful when on the field.

Goldy is pretty much a player coach at this stage and should only play in emergencies. However I doubt that’s the case but he shouldn’t get games in front of Bryan anymore.

I’m a big Setterfield fan. He’s not flashy but I just think we are a better team when he plays and hopefully he can stay uninjured and prove his worth. Worst case he’s pretty good depth and will still only be 27 by the end of next season.

I think Menzie already has his papers stamped especially with both Kako and Unwin being drafted and having already cut Jayden Davey. He has to regain the goal kicking form he had in his first couple seasons to stand a chance otherwise he just isn’t fast or athletic enough to warrant games ahead of our new shiny toys.

The big questions marks are our 3 draftees from 2020. Can both Reid and Cox stay fit and will Archie ever become consistent ?

Having said that it’s all moot if Brad doesn’t play the kids and starts rebuilding. He doesn’t have to play them all at once but they should at least be rotating in to the side each week

We will hopefully find out where the list really is come end of next season.

I have the same team but with El-Hawli in the side, with Cox missing out and Hobbs as sub - IMO we need a 7th defender rotating through and I’d prefer Martin to stay further up the field

I had Jones in for Guelfi but realised the team was still too tall so had to choose between him and Caddy. I like Cox as the sub as he can fill a number of positions but he’s still yet to make any his own.

I like Merrett spending time up forward so you could easily take Cox or Guelfi out and bring in another defender like El-Hawli, Johnson or Clarke.

Wright and Draper can rotate between ruck and forward. There’s no need to play 2 pure rucks anymore unless one of our talls are out

Yeah was really hoping the AFL would ditch the sub rule and go with 5 on the bench, having a Cox/Jones utility type as that last player in the starting side would be pretty much bang on for balance

FB Reid McKay Prior
HB McGrath Ridley Redman

FF Caddy Wright Kako
R Draper Caldwell Merrett

SUB El Hawli

Banking on Perkins fulfilling his potential
Prior fits a screaming need for a defensive small
El Hawli just 'cause can see him being a gun
Guelfi could very easily jump over Gresham

Unlucky…
Roberts & Bryan

Just questioning where you have Jones playing?
Because he’s nowhere near as good as SEH on the wing, and that forward line is already slow enough without Jones.
