Jackson Voss isn’t playing tonight mate ![]()
An excellent game from Dyson, one of Central’s best in a strong win. Starting him on ball at the first bounce seemed to give him the confidence to get rolling and he took that confidence with him when moved into the forward line, becoming a lot more assertive than we’ve seen from him at times at this level. His work rate around the ground was a feature along with his marking which remains an underrated weapon in his arsenal. He misplaced a couple of disposals but for the most part was constructive with the ball.
Sharp reminds me a little of Dunkley. Would you say that’s a fair comparison?
Yep not a bad comp
He looks good but he does kick it like Will Brodie.
No more bad kicks in this side, please.
His kicking is loopy and not that good.
A truly impressive performance from Sam Grlj in his VFL debut. Where many kids struggle with their confidence and the increased pace of the VFL game, it looked like nothing could faze Grlj as he flew around the field laying tackles and taking on opponents with his speed and agility. Grlj had slid down many boards due to his middling Champs series, but performing this well at VFL level will be a real boost for his draft stocks.
This is really positive for us as it potentially elevates him back unit he convo for our picks (or even earlier).
Love how dynamic he is and his kicking looked really good.
What happened to him at Champs? Role issue?
I really couldn’t say with any certainty and no inside info into team dynamics in the Metro squad.
He played as much midfield as anyone in that squad. Just seemed to struggle to find form, and wasn’t able to get into space as often as we’ve seen from him in the past. Even a few times when he tried to beat guys for pace he wasn’t able to, which is his 1 wood.
It’ll be interesting to see if he plays more VFL and continues to back it up. Talent League have a week off next weekend so I’m expecting to see a lot of the top age group playing VFL.
You’ve probably all seen the highlights, now here’s Dougie Cochrane’s full SANFL league debut for Central Districts including some brilliant goals that had the crowd buzzing. An exciting moment for the early pick 1 favourite for 2026. He spent a lot of time on the bench this game with the Dogs coaches limiting his minutes given he’s only freshly returned from a long injury layoff, but he didn’t need a lot of time to leave a lasting impact in the memory of onlookers.
If the AFL want to help us they can tell Port to fark off as we are a great chance of the spoon next year
Channelling my inner Nino, somehow Port getting him at 1 will ■■■■ our FS access to Bewick.
On a serious note, if they want to make this stuff fairer… they should set rolling limits on how many FS/NGA/Academy players teams get access to within a certain period. E.g. 1 first round bid match in a 2/3 year period. Maybe a +/- access based on rolling ladder position, so struggling teams get extra better access when needed.
■■■■ like GC getting 7-8 first rounders over a 2 year period shouldn’t happen. Also, ditch the discount for FS. If anything, it should be a penalty. Or FS/Academy players could maybe get a discount based on resources/time spent (by the club, not AFL welfare recipients) in the years leading up to the draft.
were not out tanking west coast
Some draft “experts” though keep pumping up those they rated highly when there’s a heap of evidence to the contrary and find it hard to admit “I might have got that one wrong”
That’s human nature though. I can be difficult to let go of something you believe in strongly.
Fair enough - I’m still on the Tsatas bandwagon but might have to let it go!!
Aren’t we about to hit big time on the Academy and F/S front, if so I hope there are no rule changes, and we finish low enough to get players before them.
Duursma I am not sold on.
His brothers were both high picks and haven’t set the world on fire.
No Vowels in his surname… sounds arrogant.
