I wouldn’t even bother trying to get draft picks to be honest. Stock pile picks for Bewick, Darwish, Rodan if he chooses to come to us and Yow Yeh and off we go.
Getting a pick before any would be nice and all but Tassie going to pillage the best of that draft anyway. Pot luck if we get anything else of quality

how many of us would even watch full saint’s games except when they play us? we see a few highlights of him kicking a goal occasionally and assume he can play, not realising he went missing for the 99% of the match that we didn’t see.

I’ve said I wasn’t interested in Grlj because I saw “McGrath”.
This article suggests “Butters”. It’s all very fine lines.

What I was reminded of was McGraths u18 work in the midfield. I wasn’t a huge fan of McGrath at the time and saw Grlj showing the same sort of hard running to get heaps of possessions, but I didn’t see the possessions hurting. (Although he certainly seems to love selling candy a bit more than McGrath did and probably has a better sidestep. I guess for me with Grlj I’m worried about how his defining traits will translate in a more congested, contested game. And if he plays more outside and gets it in space and uses his running power, I am not 100% sold that his kicking is super damaging for that role.
Yes I’m over thinking, and he seems very well rated, so what would I know.

The one thing I disagreed with you on in your assessment of Grlj from a couple of days ago was banging the ball on the boot in same way McGrath does. I think if anything he can at times be too confident in his ability to use pace and agility to run his way out of any situation. I think its partly a slight lack of confidence in his kicking technique, but probably more just muscle memory from having always been the quickest kid on the field at every level he’s played.

I’m sure we’d be across it, but it’s super important that Schubert’s height is clarified.
Watching him play in the champs, he looked every bit 198cm. If he’s 194cm, he’s the tallest looking 194cm player I’ve seen.

Would also add that McGarth is more of a burst athlete rather than an elite endurance one.
Grjl just seems like the modern day prototype prospect

Grjl reminds me of Trav Colyer a bit. Probably a big bigger body, but similar burst and lateral movement.

I think he’s in that group of reasonable options at our picks. I prefer others in that group myself, but I definitely wouldn’t be against us picking him.

Absolutely there would be. Cos Blitz.
But I don’t care at all where the players we select are rated by the punters, I want us to pick the players that will have the best career. These 2 lists correlate, but they most definitely do not end up the same.
We want recruiters who are better than the punters. Of course we haven’t had that for the past 25 years, but hopefully we do now.

Wasn’t there some type of arrangement at the time where we pay overs for Gresham to get them higher compo and they give us overs for Shiel or was that just a blitz rumour?
