Kako is pretty decent above head. Better than his size suggests.
We could easily finish 16th this year
If north beat saints and tigers, we will
Let’s hope we do so and we can actually have a good swing in this years draft
If Draper goes also, we are laughing
Seems like Ollie Greeves & Josh Lindsay would be a great combination with our top 10 picks.
I feel like we still need an elite mid added to our young mix of Duz, Calders & Martin. Greeves seems to be a really nice fit in terms of size & power.
Lindsay’s ball use would be excellent in our back 6.
I would then seriously look at trying to package up our two seconds and try target one of GC’s 3 first rounders (pick 14). That could open the door for Lachy Dovaston.
And then trade in some points for Sweid & El Achkar.
i’d prefer we do it, the 3 talls does not work, theres no ground coverage, caddy + may and a mosquito fleet is modern footy.
What’s next years draft looking like @noobermensch ?
Lose Draper and have three first round picks this year, trade Merrett, Parish and Langford next year and start this rebuild.
Yeah but he can’t take a pack mark or bring the ball to ground when we’re outnumbered against tall intercept defenders like your Lohman, Cameron, Bailey, Rayner types can.
Next year is looking good at this stage, but we will have that same issue with some of the top talent being club tied.
As bad as this year, you reckon?
Theres this one kid called bewick, heard he goes alright, pity hes tied to some bs melbourne based club
@noobermensch if CDT, Duursma & Lindsay are all gone and we have the next two picks, who are you taking for us atm?
I haven’t dug deeply yet but we have the two obvious ones up at the pointy end. Cody Walker is Andrew Walkers kid, father-son to Carlton and also in the Tigers NGA zone if he wanted to avoid the Blues for understandable and logical reasons.
Then there’s the standout number 1 pick that might be the best talent I’ve ever seen at junior level in Dougie Cochrane who’s dad Stuart is ex AFL but not enough games for F/S… but he does have indigenous heritage and Stuart is desperately trying to get him into the Port Adelaide NGA program. We haven’t heard officially if that’s happening or not yet but Cal has reported that its likely.
Well here’s the thing. I’d be MUCH more ruthless than Rosa is likely to be.
I’d be shipping out half our midfielders, so I’d probably pick both Sharp and Greeves.
Realistically what would I like Rosa to do given he’s not likely to cut/trade all of Parish, Hobbs, Shiel, Setterfield, Perkins (maybe even Tsatas)?
I like the idea of trading back the second of our two top 10 picks, with one our second rounders, for two picks in the teens. I think there are a bunch of kids I really like in a big group there and some with have to slide back into that mid teens range. I would love Jacob Farrow in that range if we miss out on Lindsay. Love guys like Marsh, Cumming, Dovaston, Fred, Grlj, even Barker with his ACL, BOB and Swadling I like but they might be there early second round. Two of those guys in the teens would be better than 1 guy at the back end of the top 10.
Rosa should be getting creative. There will be lots of talent in the 2nd half of the first round and we have many holes to fill.
I’d also delist or trade every single one of those players for picks, splitting them between this and mostly next years drafts.
We need some luck hoping he’s our Nick Daicos moment
I still like the idea of using one of our top 10s to pick Sharp or Greeves if they’re there. If we can get a pairing like Greeves and Lindsay or Sharp and Lindsay with our first two, then don’t trade back. But, if we can’t get a pair like that then I’d like us to look at live trading back with one of those picks, or even live trading into next years draft. We’ve seen repeatedly that the value of drafts picks (especially top 10 picks) spikes up on draft day. There have been so many stories of teams offering crazy future pick options to get back into the top 10 on draft day. I think the art of a modern list manager is remaining open and flexible to exploit those opportunities.
Better to trade them this year for 2026 and 2027 picks.
That is 2027.
At this stage Tassie has picks 1,3,5,7,9,11 and 13 in 2027 so need to be wary of that
Hasn’t nominated them though.
I’m all for another deathride.
