He seems very similar to style Huss but arguably that little be better in most facets.

With the expected changes around adding an extra rookie spot for indigenous talent, maybe it’s a bit of recency bias in seeing him play twice, but one to look at is Sonny Smiler, a 175cm small forward from NT. Very raw but has moments of decent kicking, as well as his agility and being able to zip out of tight traffic with the ball. I would wonder and expect clubs would be less likely to take a punt at the National Draft and instead sign him afterwards at no cost of picks.
That would mean we had a win at all costs mentality.
Go have a look at the trades again. They’re really not that far off lol. Though it depends how much you rate second rounders (which I do).
For example, the three first rounders Sydney traded for Curnow are pretty much the same value as the Hawks ones.

A strong performance from Gus Teixeira, showing the strengths of his game that have him starting to appear inside the top 10 of some early ranking lists. His pace and slick kicking skills on the outside are eye catching, and he’s powerful and tough enough inside to win his own ball. He had a stint in the forward line early in the fourth quarter where he kicked two quick goals, both from lead/mark and lovely set shot kicks, underpinning his dual threat as a mid/fwd.

@noobermensch is Gus’ kicking always that inconsistent or was it down to other factors? opposition pressure, conditions. Looked rushed at times and often poorly executed, we dont need any more poorly skilled mid/fwds
