Now mine would be Gus Texiera love the speed and movement. We are too slow

That’s why I’d love Patterson, he reminds me a lot of Bailey when he was coming through

Still expect Jack Pickett and Koby LeCras to slide some more given their injuries. That and taller winger types tend to drop a little.

In terms of small forwards there are exciting options in Neocleous and El Souki, but I wouldn’t sleep on Cody Templeton.

Great win by Calder. Thought Darwish and Rodan’s work rate was great. Naim was busy and had around 4 shots on goal.

HVH, Butler, Patterson, KES, Neo, Snell. Will all be good AFL players in positions that we actually need.

Tex, Williams would both add some leg speed to our midfield which we also need.

The top end, as it stands, is looking pretty good tbh as most players in that range do suit our needs quite well

So moment of honesty… is it best for us to have games like tonight (competitive) and bottom out ladder wise… before Tassie draft next year?

I don’t think we are escaping the bottom 4 no matter what

whatever it takes to get HVH

Doesn’t look like your typical bean pole HVH

Just got to hope that there are a few that put their hand up in champs and finals to challenge HVH as the best non aligned player.

I think we’ll have, at worst, the 3rd live pick in the draft as even we finish ahead of FCFC they will lose their pick for Walker.

Fc might trade a couple of players for picks and take the first live pick and then take Walker

It’s a delicate balance. Against a decent team like GWS we showed real potential without winning and harming our draft position. Gained some industry kudos too. Tick. It’s going to be much harder to achieve that against Richmond. We want but don’t really need the win as this is the last draft pre-Tassie that won’t be extremely compromised. If we can look past HVH, maybe it won’t matter so much.

draft picks are nice and shiny but winning should trump any pick number

Except when it shouldn’t…

That’s the mentality that led to the current state of the list.

Fc and west coast and Richmond are all playing to lose nicely most of the time so we need to just keep with the program and not get ahead of ourselves
