I heard a discussion the other day and one proposal to negate the need to replace him is that the federations share the role on a rotating basis. Given the complete and utter dodgy behaviour of the past 3 people to hold the President of FIFA role in Infantino, Blatter and Havelange it makes some sense.

They should have done the same thing with the World Cup, rotate it between confederations.

They are doing this of sorts now. Issue is the next World Cup will be played in 3 confederations - with Spain, Uruguay and Morocco hosting.
Spain, Portugal and Morocco are hosting it but 1 game played in each of Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina as openers to celebrate 100th anniversary of WC.

Yes and the view of FIFA is that this means South America is hosting.

South America is broke, no way they can have another WC.
Wont work, will end up just looking a after themselves when it is their turn and say that the others only looked after themselves when it was the others turn.
It could work if say the AFC is due up and they need to put up 3 candidates and the other confederations get to vote on it, excluding AFC
