#21 Archie Roberts - thru 2026

Seems his contest work is the reason for him sliding

I think this guy (or schoenmakers) will be the steal of the draft. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him play early games. Finds plenty of footy and uses it well which is a real need for our backline makeup.

Looks like a Clarkson Hawks special… has a blend of Ellis, Young, Birchall, Suckling written all over him…

Thoroughly enjoyed the footage I have seen of him. Makes good decisions. Good skills. Just looks like a natural footy player. Not an athlete we’re hoping turns into a footy player. Nice pickup.

He has plenty of time to improve that aspect of his game, along with all the other facets once he gets into preseason training. He and Lual will be dueling with each other for a small defender possie, which is not a bad thing. Every team had a couple of chances to pick him up and passed on him. l want him to make them all regret doing so.

I wonder if Lloyd picked up the phone and worded Dodoro up when he could see he was sliding… wouldn’t surprise me

He’s just another generic small ish defender with no real standout attributes

Who would you have taken ?

No idea, but we select someone like him every second draft and it never works out.

I think info would have been shared well before draft night.

Welcome young man. Focus on your defensive skills and look forward to seeing you playing for the mighty bombers one day.

Can’t have too many Archie’s on the list.

Private schoolboy - HBF - future midfielder - leader - future captain… ?

Yep, he’s a Dodo special - just like Andy McGrath. Good luck to him !

He looks like a good mover and tidy kick. All the best Archie.

Regardless of whether he works out, we used a future 4th round pick on a kid that was ranked 22nd in October. Sooking about this one is a little rediculous. Kid moves well, kicks the footy nicely and looks really decisive with the ball in hand. We need depth in this position too, especially if Andy walks as a free agent.

Cal had him ranked 16th in his August form guide. I wonder why he slipped so far?

Dodoro had him ranked number 1 and couldn’t believe he was still there at pick 54.

It may just be a case of what everyone was saying pre-draft: A clear top 10-15, then a huge pile of guys who could go anywhere between 16-70.

That’s literally every year.

I remember someone else rated very similarly who we got at #63.

Pretty sweet numbers there.
