Terribly sorry. Only been an Essendon supporter for 55 odd years.
So obviously I don’t know what I’m talking about.
Not compared to younger supporters who’ve contracted Cynicism 19.
Sometimes the simplest explanation is the correct one.
And supporting Essendon works better with a bit of resilience.
Or do we have to argue about the “horrible’70’s” again?

Anyway what would us old foggies know? Not much most of the time and I’m talking about myself. I’ve been supporting this club for seventy years and I love to tell stories about Jackie Clarke teaching me how to kick with rolled up newspaper and how to kick with both feet. His Mum Myrtle and Dad Tommy were neighbours of ours and great people. Auntie Myrtle knitted me an Essendon Footy jumper with number 1 on it. My brother played with footy with Ronnie Clarke and got knocked out cold in his first and last game.
I just hoped to see another cup before I die but; maybe not, we don’t always get what we want in life however the journey has been super. I hope the club plays Mozzie and give him his shot this season. Get the hunger going for next year.
p.s. I forgot to menton I am still not a bad kick and can still kick with both feet.
