The only way this would assist is if a) Jake actually agrees to join that club that offers the best trade to us, or b) we head down the mediation path and say we got 3 clubs who all offered up better deals than St.Kilda did.

If we are going to take next years 1st I would ask for the saints 2nd round pick this year. Unless they get a number of injuries I expect them to improve by 3 or 4 spots next year. Assuming we get a 2nd round pick from Melksham I would then take 2 of our 3 2nd rounders (Ours, Saints and Dees) and trade up to a higher first round pick.
Saints need their 2nd rounder for other trades which works in our favour.

At best we end up with pick 1 next year at worst its probably still a top 10. Id take it and run rather than what we will be offered this year
