Former #22 Matthew Leuenberger

One of the great things about Looney was he was an AFL quality backup who was prepared to play forward in the VFL to allow Draper to develop.

Not sure other backup rucks we could attract will want to do that.

If that happens heā€™s not a DFA though.

What will he be then?

Wouldnā€™t this be like Alex Morgan how we offered one year and Roos offered two years so he took the better offer?

Depends. We essentially retracted our contract offer to help Morgan out. If the dogs want him and he refuses to sign a contract heā€™s just an uncontracted player and has to nominate for the draft. If you could just refuse to sign and become a DFA, thereā€™d be no need to ever trade for uncontracted players.

Nice of Essendon to do that for Morgan. If he was a better player there would be no way that would happen.

Iā€™m pretty sure the dogs arenā€™t going to do us any favours based on Stringer last year.

Maybe we need to release a video of Campbell doing something unsavoury?

Playing for the Bulldogs is as unsavoury as it gets.

Thanks for everything Loony

Respect for pulling the pin when his heart isnā€™t in it, instead of just going around again and collecting a pay check

He did a vfl post match tv interview where it can across pretty clearly that he thought his time was up.

Thanks for your service.

So whatā€™s out there in terms of mature age ruck cover that we can draft. I have a vague recollection of Zac Clarkeā€™s man be being been mentioned at some point.

Tom Campbell would be the ideal type.

Heā€™s certainly thrown up some decent numbers on the wall this year

Did the dogs delist him?

If we can afford it, I think we should try to lock in Draper for longer. ie. Extend now.

A young Andrew Gaff was resting on the bench that day, and while certainly shocked and appalled by the Mad Russianā€™s meaty hook, he was not left without a curious admiration for the efficient method with which the big man had dealt with his small problem.

Anyone know if heā€™s going to stay around as a ruck coach ?
